i love this place. i went today, november 3rd, and it's CLOSED. no explanation, no signage, no good bye from the staff. what the heck?

Extremely rude personnel!!!! Particularly because of Brenda today I had to leave and did not oder anything ... Is there is a policy not to use a bathroom before ordering ? if there one please put a sign ! I tried to use a bathroom before ordering and Brenda in extremely rude manner called me to come to her first and order .. I went to this place many times since I live 2 blocks away and never faced this attitude before !!! Never come back again unless she is going to apologize !

There aren't many options for a nice sit-down place in this general area. I used to go here when I was a grad student at Hunter for a quick cappuccino and just recently sat down with my mother. She had a hot chocolate and I had a cappuccino. They're consistently made well, and we got our fancy little leaf thingy in the foam. My mom also had a red velvet cupcake which she enjoyed.
They have high top seating, comfy chairs and tables. It's normally pretty quiet and empty enough to snag seating at various times of the day.
