Not the best Irish pub in town, but you will be happy that you went, it is a good local hangout. The staff is great and some have been there for years. There are always a good lively crowd there and if you go there, you may not want to leave. I always felt at home when I went there.

Classic irish pub feel with solid pub fare, a jukebox, a pinball table, and very friendly Irish bartenders.

I lived down the block for a few years and I love this bar. Unfortunately, I don't make it there nearly as often because I moved to the west side, but I think I've seen Dmitri, Paula and Amber working there the last time I stopped by. They're all excellent. Joe the bouncer is a really cool guy. It's busy when you'd expect, but they have enough space so you never ever feel uncomfortable squeezing through crowds to use the bathroom or order a drink. Lot's of crowd diversity, everyone is friendly. I'd often run into the same people and making new friends here is easy. The Carriage House is good for: Lunch and a pint if you're in the neighborhood Watching football at the bar Grabbing beers and maybe dinner while catching up with friends A date (if she's cool) Darts and a Pinball machine from the 90's Jukebox I've been in NYC since 2007 and haven't found a pub I prefer yet.
