I had my wisdom teeth extracted at the Southern Oral. Surgery procedure went great thus the three stars, and while I have no complaints regarding that, their relationships between employees are horrible. I worked in the medical environment for years, and I understand the stress and difficulties, but please dont fire a person within my earshot. Also, cussing, discussing their plans after work, gossiping one another, and leaving me waiting for 40 minutes only to have my check up done within one minute. Thanks for drama I didnt ask for, but Im glad I dont have to be back.

Had a molar removed. Was given local anesthesia, not IV sedation. Anesthesia was not sufficient, Lane critisized me for flinching, finally put me in a wrestling headlock and proceeded to drill the tooth into sections to remove it. Pain was exquisite. Do not recommend.

I am care-giver for a woman with Dementia whom was getting a tooth pulled by Charles Silvia today. At first he seemed very helpful and kind, but after multiple comments throughout the appointment-I quickly learned this man is not equipped to work with people with special needs. His staff, however, was incredible. Unfortunately, he was very impatient with all three staff members (whom were women)- short, crude comments to them or yelling their name loudly, in what seemed to be an annoyed tone. I felt uncomfortable multiple times. I appreciate his assistant's help- they were great. Would not recommend this surgeon, personally.

I had three wisdom teeth removed here last week. I believe all three were impacted, and one had decayed significantly. It was my first time under IV sedation and I was so worried the night before, as all experiences I'd read led me to believe it was going to be a miserable day, and an even worse couple of weeks afterward. I sat in the chair. I was cold and they gave me a snug little blanket and put the gas on my nose. A few deep breaths and I was so warm and relaxed I was almost happy to be there. Dr. Silvia came in, we chatted for a moment while he placed the IV, and then I woke up to him saying, "We're done!" I felt fine immediately upon being brought out of sedation. Zero nausea, zero disorientation, zero pain. The nurse told my girlfriend that I wouldn't remember anything she was telling us but I remember all of it from the moment I woke up. I was even able to walk straight away, but the nurse still insisted on a wheelchair. Even later, once all of the painkillers and numbing from the procedure wore off, I have very very minimal discomfort. I was eating the soft stuff about twenty minutes after getting home, and most foods by the following morning. 48 hours after surgery and it was as though nothing ever happened. If you're nervous about getting your wisdom teeth out, or about the sedation procedure-- go to Southern Oral Surgery! If you follow all the doctor's instructions prior to the procedure, it'll go so smoothly that you'll almost consider it pleasurable. And even if you have to pay out of pocket, the procedure is almost half the price of a singular root canal from my normal dentist. I've already recommended this practice to all of my friends who still have their wisdom teeth, and will certainly be returning if I ever need another oral surgery performed. Thanks Dr. Silvia!
