We had such a great meal here. They seated us upstairs, thus, great views of the action on the street, looking over the balcony area.
I ordered the blackened chicken, greens, and cheesy grits, along with a side of the jalapeo hush puppies. The chicken had a great spicy heat level to it and was tender and juicy. The greens were great. They had a tiny bit of smoke, a mild tang from the vinegar, and a decent pot liquor flavor. The grits were nothing special and not creamy as I liked. They were a little grainy, not very cheesy, and actually was more solidified when served. The jalapeo hush puppies weren't spicy at all to me. I was hoping to get some heat, but there was nome. They did have a great mild flavor, though, a nice crunch on the outside, and nice and fluffy and soft on the inside.
The food here is good. Not a knock it out of the park good, but definitely a place I will come back to again. Good NOLA flavors and ambiance!
