I am a lifelong resident of Naperville. Sadly, my first experience with Friedrich Jones Funeral Home was in September of 1978 when, at the age of twelve, I lost my dad. I cant remember all the specifics of the wake and funeral, but I can remember how Mr. Jones (Ray) treated me. I felt tremendous empathy and compassion from him, someone I hardly knew but a familiar face from attending Sunday mass at Sts. Peter and Paul church. I was only twelve, so at the time, I didnt fully understand what Mr. Jones did. He knew this was a big loss for me. He knew it would have a great bearing on my life and on my future. I was clueless. But he knewhence the wonderful and comforting treatment of me, my mom, and my siblings. In 2019, I lost my mom. There was never any question as to who I would contact to make the funeral arrangements withFriedrich Jones. For this occasion, my oldest brother Brian and I met with Dave Jones, Rays son. As anyone who has been through this loss of a loved one knows, its a beyond difficult time. My brother and I had been with my mom when she died and were both dealing with that trauma when we sat down with Dave. Dave treated us with respect. He helped to gently guide us through the many decisions we had to make. His knowledge and professionalism allowed us to be reassured that all my moms arrangements would be handled to perfection which allowed us focus on ourselves, our family and mourning the loss of our mom, rather than worry about the minutia of arrangements. We were shown the same empathy and compassion that Mr. Jones (Ray) had shown us decades ago. During that meeting with Dave, something happened that I will never forget. Ray Jones, the man who had made such an impression on 12-year-old me, came in to the room, he looked right at me and said, I remember you. I remember your dad, Malcolm. You were so young. He was so young. And your mom, Joann, I had a lot of respect for her as a Naperville businesswoman and community member. Im sorry for your loss. She was an amazing woman. I have no words. There is something beautiful and somewhat intangible that I experience when I attend a wake at Friedrich Jones Funeral Home, and I have attended far too many. Loss is hard but the people at Friedrich Jones put their heart, soul, compassion, and empathy into everything that they do there. Its clearly not just a business to them. In a way, they make me feel like family. My loss is their loss too. (My moms wake and funeral were beautiful. Friedrich Jones provided us with an amazing tribute to my mom.) This past November, I began working with Stephanie Jones to pre plan and prepay my aunts funeral expenses. I have never been through a Medicaid spend down before but Stephanie knew what to do. To be honest, Stephanie had her work cut out for her guiding me through this part of the process. I had a lot on my mind and as a result, was forgetting to follow through on many of the action items that were needed. Stephanie kept the ball rolling. She was extremely patient and kind even though I kept changing my mind about the plans, causing Stephanie extra work. In a recent conversation, I disclosed to Stephanie that I was having a difficult time with the supportive living business office regarding my aunts Medicaid spend down. I was completely distraught. While Stephanie had no obligation to help me, she took immediate action. She went above and beyond for me. I now have a known and trusted Medicaid Specialist to help me with my aunts application. Friedrich Jones is a family owned and operated funeral home, but it goes well beyond that. Their family ties are with the entire Naperville family and beyond. They have a history with our community. They have love for our community. I am beyond grateful to them for all the compassion and support they have shown to me, my family, my friends families, and generations of the Naperville family. We are blessed!

This home was clean, tidy and all accomodations were well-appointed and in lovely condition. There was a gentleman at the front door greeting funeral attendees. Parking was good. I didn't notice how handicap accessible the entrance was. The feeling in this space was peaceful and hospitable.
