Paul and Marissa are doing an outstanding job of helping us buy local, buy humane and learning about where our food comes from. We have been buying beef and chicken from Starry Nights for several years and we couldn't be happier with their product. We have visited the farm several times and taken a farm tour as well to see up close how they deliver their outstanding beef and chicken for us and our family. Aside from the business side of farming, these folks are really nice people and they are an asset to our community- so do Your research and check their certifications, go visit and see in person what they do, and take home some outstanding protein if it is available.

The grass fed beef is delicious? Not like grass fed in grocery store. Have purchased their organic chicken as well and never disappointed!

Finally... a family-run, truly organic and sustainable venture that can give back both to our land and to our community. Check out their practice of rotational grazing for feeding their herds! You can enjoy a stay at their Airbnb, too. These people are serious about being good stewards of our Earth!

Hello! It’s a shame you’ve decided to write a 1 star review without ever buying or tasting our products, visiting our farm, or even getting to know us.We agree on one thing- grass-fed DOES NOT necessarily mean humane, and we also agree and encourage ALL our customers (and non customers!) to do their homework and know their farmer. This is why we’ve offered farm tours and many of our customers have visited the farm themselves through tours, when picking up their meat, or by appointment. We welcome anyone that wants to come and see and ask us any questions. We even offer Farmstays where some of our customers have stayed an entire weekend and seen for themselves what we do!One thing I will very much disagree though is, our animals are NOT “constantly bellowing” or in distress. Humane treatment of our animals is something VERY important to us. We are not only certified organic (which includes some aspects of animal welfare) but we voluntarily added the Animal Welfare Approved certification to prove and keep ourselves accountable of the humane treatment of our animals. Also, cows bellow for a number of reasons, and is not necessarily distress, but a form of communication. Our herd gets moved to a new pasture every day and they get very excited when they see us coming in the ATV to open the fence! so they might bellow then for a few minutes. They also moo to: seek their herd mates, calf, or mother; say they are hungry; call for a partner when they are wishing to mate; raise alarm to warn their herd mates of potential danger; show contentment; and express pain; just like any other animal in the wild would do.Lastly, we are not trying to be anything or anyone, just a family working hard to farm the way we think its best for us, our land, our animals, and our customers. If you are ever interested in learning more about what we do, why we do it this way, and/or visit the farm, please give us a call and we would welcome you at our farm.
