Ivy Ridge Home Builders is nothing but a complete rip off and the worst contractors/builders I have ever come across. I purchased a new home from them in a new development of detached townhomes. The association was managed by them until all of the lots were sold/occupied. I cannot even begin to list the things wrong with the home from poor layout design to them using the cheapest materials possible. In less than one year, the carpet was pealing, the sliding screen patio door had broken, and multiple cracks in trim/molding occurred. I was told the house was cleaned from top to bottom prior to move in, but when I moved in the doors were still covered in visible dust and none of the windowsills had been cleaned. They charged for every little thing (having a garage door opener) claiming it was considered an upgrade. One of the biggest frustration was the garage door itself. It had to have major repairs twice in 1.5 years with both times the repair man documenting that the original installation was poor as was the product. When voicing my frustration about this to the builders I was told that they only warranty their products for 1 year. The landscaping they did was horrible. It was ugly and the dirt they laid under the rocks was full of weeds (including large thistles). They would spray them in the late summer which killed them, but then never pulled them. The material the house was built with was also very cheap! Any little touch of the trim and a chunk would come off, which was not easy to repair since the trim was not real wood. Lastly, the builder knew I needed the house to be wheelchair accessible and I was assured that it would be. Nothing about the house (other than there being no stairs) was wheelchair friendly. One bathroom had a door not large enough to get a wheelchair in and the other you had to get the wheelchair in far enough to shut the door, back up, and then get around a corner to use the toilet and shower. It was such a poor design. I had been warned about buying a new house because contractors are simply worried about how fast they can get houses up, but I thought this one would be different. I was dead wrong. I will NEVER purchase another home (new or used) that was built by Ivy Ridge Home Builders.
