I wish there was an option for zero stars. The Summit in Mankato MN is disgusting. All of these bad reviews I read and I thought this would never happen to me and it did. If you think that this won't happen to you, it will. The Summit is the worst place I have ever lived. When we moved in we were promised a clean environment and new furniture, tv stand, end table,etc. We have lived here for 6 months and do not have any of this. When we moved it was disgusting and very clear that no one had EVER cleaned in here. There were other people's dishes left on the floor and left in the cupboards. Everything was broken (cabinets, handels, locks, trim, table, chairs,etc) . We had cockroaches and everything was dirty. Our washing machine and dryer barely work. There is also a giant hole in the bottom part of one of our cabinets that has other people's belongings shoved under there. The drains were also all clogged when we moved in as well and rust formed around every drain. The dishwasher smelled, the blinds were broken, our couch was ripped, our beds were dirty, our dressers were full of dirt and other people's belongings. There was even a sticker left on the bathroom mirror and other peoples shower hangers in the shower. Furthermore, when moving in the floors were filthy, after 5 minutes of walking around our feet were black and covered in dirt. This place had clearly never been touched before moving in.
The people that work here are also no help. Many of them look stoned when walking into the office (and usually are no help) and anytime we call to say something that needs to be fixed they say that they will fix it and never follow through. They will say that they will fix it and when no change occurs and we call again they say that they never promised us that (keep receipts of everything if you live here). Everything in here is also super cheap, shutting the door will cause the blind to fall off. In the amenities they say they have a hot tub, they have a hot tub but it is open for the summer months and is closed the rest of the year.
Maintenance also comes in without knocking. When we told the front desk about this they told us that we stated that they did not need to when we are 1000% sure that we did not say that and never would. Maintenance is also super loud when in the apartment and doesn't wipe off shoes or take them off which leaves dirt all around the ground.
Even though this place is super close to campus there is a downfall. The windows and walls are super thin. You will wake up to car alarms and people yelling outside.
Overall, there is nothing good to say about this apartment complex, it is truly disgusting and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am sure I forgot some things but I would never live here again.
