I brought my 92 year old lady friend who suffers from macular degeneration to see if we could find a lighted magnifier that could help her read. Both the staff members were absolutely wonderful - patient and helpful - in finding a perfect fit. In addition, she found a telephone with huge number keys and the staff helped find sunglasses that not only shaded glare but also allowed her to read road signs on the way home. I can't say enough great things about this special place.

If you need accessibility assistance this is the place to go. Amy is an angel. She is like having a paid consultant. They have many aids to try and purchase to improve your access. They are a non-profit organization who love to help.

If you have or are begining life with low vision, this is a must stop. Many pieces of equipment and a friendly knowledgeable staff. If you are just curious, stop in. Clean, great lighting and organized.

I recently went here with one of my friends who is losing her vision. The entire staff is super amazing and they have a really cool old building. As my friend had questions about her cell phone, we met with Jim, the computer guy. He was super helpful and has a great sense of humor. My friend was initially really hesitant about coming here. Jim's easy going personality and the comfortable method he used to convey knowledge helped her relax and get the information she needed. I wish everyone was as knowledgeable and caring as Jim was during this appointment. She can now read my text messages thanks to the information Jim provided. The Council also has a great store full of terrific items which can help people who are losing vision. The store guy was Greg and he gave us a tour of all the products and was full of answers when my friend had questions. He even told us about a couple of items they could special order if necessary. Again, he was easy going and conveyed what he knew in a thoughtful and respectful manner. I can't say enough positive things about this organization. They are really good people who have a ton of knowledge to assist people who are losing sight. I highly recommend checking them out if you or someone in your life is in need of their services.
