The facility was finally permanently closed in February, 2018.  Among other things the hospital had several safety violations. A few years before the hospital closed I had been a patient there. It was a nightmare. The unit that I was on was understaffed. Because of that there was littlecontrol of the patients.  Which is to say that there was a lot of conflict among them. In the shower there was feces and it had a strong smell ofurine. I ended up putting a three day notice in so that I could go to another facility. I'm surprised that the hospital wasn't shut down long ago.

My daughter was a patient there for approximately 3 weeks. There was very poor nursing care and no supervision. When I went to visit, it took 20 minutes to get in. You keep ringing the buzzer but no one answers. When you call the nurses' station, no one answers either. I called 20 times in one day several times. I even called to complain to the director but the she never returned my call. When I call the patient's phone, the kids will answer. I told them to have the nurse call me (I could hear them saying this) but they never did. It is a wild place with rough patients and no supervision. It looks like a jail and feels like one. Very unorganized, dirty and rough. Stay away.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever been treated as a teen years ago. I'm actually in treatment for PTSD now partially due to how I was treated there as an adolescent rape survivor, recovering from depression and an eating disorder because of my trauma which they hardly addressed. When I was there I was over medicated and my doctors never properly informed me or my parents about the meds that I was taking. If I didn't want to take something because it was making me feel sick, they would tell me it's hindering my treatment and threaten to keep me there longer instead of listening to my concerns or the concerns of my mother who saw me getting worse as I stayed there longer. It took another hospital but I found out that I have very adverse reactions to many of the meds they prescribed (commonly known effects from SSRIs/other meds in some teens making them more suicidal/sick) and had they listened to me I may have been out of there sooner. Many of the staff were also abusive. I remember once that I started having a panic attack and instead of being comforted I was tackled to the floor and forcibly given a shot of something to "calm me down" and then put in restraints for hours. Totally unethical and cruel. Editing to say I recently got my records and I found that my sexual assault disclosure that I made as a minor was also never reported to DCF which is also super illegal as the person I told was a mandated reporter. It's not even like he didn't file the report within 48 hours he didn't file it AT ALL. Also the fact that I was a sexual assault survivor never made my discharge summary so I wasn't treated for it at the next program I was discharged too so I was misdiagnosed and medicated with the wrong things for another year which sucked to put it lightly. Also I have records of all these things as I found this out while looking for evidence for my rape case because my past rapist started stalking me recently and I needed to find evidence of past disclosures etc. I've talked and reconnected with other people who were treated here and had similar experiences. Stay away if you can. There are so many other places that will treat you with kindness and compassion.
