I'm a small business owner, we have an account with advance ready mix. We ordered some concrete for a customer, when the truck arrived the driver got off the truck and headed to the job site and started walking on it like kinda measuring with each step then told one of my employees that the amount ordered wasn't gonna be enough for the job. The concrete had to be carried by wheelbarrow so when the driver finally started pouring concrete into the wheelbarrows my workers realized it was too dry and it needed more water, they asked the guy to add water 8 times but he refused to, they just kept on pouring it like that. The job turned out so bad, concrete was unmanageable to to point it dried and they couldn't level it up on time. In an attempt to fix the problem they added water to it after it was poured already and that just made things worse. They did what they could and tried to save the job but it was effortless. But it was enough unlike the driver said it. And also driver told the home owner like questioning where did he find us because he has not seen as anywhere before, like he the only concrete driver in Louisville.
Next day we had to rent a jackhammer and a skid steer, then prep again. We called on to Ernst concrete, they were polite from dispatchers to the drivers. Every since the bad experience with advance ready mix, we already had 3 deliveries by Ernst and they are the most polite drivers out there that never looked down or any less on us because of our skin color as driver from advance did.
We called advance for almost a week straight sometimes twice at day, promising someone was gonna call us back but they never did.
It cost me twice to pour for this customer which I ended up paying out of pocket after rentals, paying for labor and materials twice for the same job all because the delivery driver refused to add water to the mix.
They lost my business and my respect...
Ernst sells their concrete for about $30 cheaper per yard, and best customer service and delivery friendly no matter what the color of your skin is...
