I had a leakage problem in my basement that all who gave estimates said was an above-ground problem. I had four estimates. While the Springfield Drainage and Lawn company had the highest estimate, it was the most thorough and I decided to use them. The company arrived in time (after county marked utilities) and finished the work in two days. Bill Funk did landscaping afterwards that was a successful solution after the drainage changes to the old landscape were made. The new landscape looked much better than what I had originally. I totally recommend this company and will refer to people I know, my only reservation was the fact that there was no guarantee to the work. That being said, Bill's solution was more thorough than the other three estimates and I don't anticipate having any water problems in the future.

I rarely write reviews but huge kudos to Bill and his crew!  We had work done a few years ago to fix a bad drainage problem in our yard.  He fixed another company's mistakes and did the best he could with our swamp (It's called SPRINGfield for a reason!).  They are back this week to install some pads for our new chicken coop and shed.  He and his crew are taking great care to avoid overly stressing my chickens.  They set up the electric saw in a back corner and are giving the existing coop a wide berth.  I have seen other contractors not be as careful and it winds up as a stressful day for both me and my "girls". I greatly appreciate a company that pays attention to the environment and not just on getting the job done as fast as possible!

This a terrific company! They will work with you and make excellent recommendations, but you never feel pressured. The owner is fantastic and I just can't saw enough about this company. I was in a bind and the helped me out. I would highly recommend them!

Last winter we knew we needed to remove the regular lake that was filing in our yard. We invited Bill Funk of Springfield Landscape and he proposed a vet plausible solution. We waited until late summer, then late fall before our water problems and grass seed had grown to plant 38 conifers, bushes, grasses and cedars. It's beautifully curved with boulders and a rock bed. We are very thrilled with all three parts of the job and plan to do a major patio remodel with him next spring. I highly recommend Springfield Landscape's work.-Mt Vernon Park 3/4 acre yard.

We had a massive drainage problem from water seeping from a restaurant parking lot next door, down our hilly side yard and into our basement. With little recourse to compel the restaurant to fix the issue, we chose to find a contractor to not only fix the drainage problem but also install hardscape and landscape to turn our front, back and side yards into a fantastic outdoor living space -- a place to entertain and relax. As outdoorsy people with dogs, we really wanted to create an extension of our inside house. Of all the contractors, Bill Funk was by far the most responsive and the most candid. He spent considerable time meeting with us and talking through options. Mindful to stay on budget, he gave us many options and suggested doing the very large project in phases. He also talked about doing work that would improve the home's value, without going overboard. Our home is located in a busy section of North Old Town -- without a driveway or easy staging area -- and Bill took on the project despite the cramped quarters for his trucks and crew, and he worked with us to ensure our street was clear when needed. His crew was great -- polite, considerate and friendly. When we weren't sold on an idea, Bill talked it through with us and gave us other options -- and he was transparent on pricing. In the end, his team did the work in two phases -- drainage and hardscape first, followed by final touches and plantings second. We now have a multi-level patio system in the back, with a drainage system that stretches from the front, down the side and through the back, and new retaining walls in the front. A dry creek with river rock runs from the front, down the side and through the back, and a flat rock wall rounds out the back garden. Gorgeous plantings, selected by Bill in consultation with us, dot the property now, with mulch and sod balancing the river rock. We are so pleased and have spent every day since its completion marveling at how well it turned out. Don't wait to hire Bill and his team!
