REAL CUSTOMER HERE - all good reviews must be from employees/owners/family members/friends MISLEADING
I purchased a 53 ft Dry Van trailer from Penske during the height of the pandemic. Trailers were scarce & hard to find for sale. I purchased sight unseen (just saw photos online). Big Mistake. Just because they are a major brand, their employees on the bottom level (techs) aren't fairly compensated & don't take pride in the company's equipment or upholding the brand's image. Never purchase a trailer from Penske until you fully inspect it. All the trailer's mechanical parts needed replaced (no exaggeration). I contacted Penske's Corporate Office & they offered to pay for anything I requested to be fixed/repaired. At the time, I didn't know every mechanical part needed replaced, so I only pointed out a few, very obvious repairs that I noticed. They had me drop the trailer off to this place for repairs.
#1. This place took over 5 months to "repair" my trailer.
#2. Labor cost were rediculous. Parts were less then $1,200. Labor cost were 2x. Repair shops are known for PRICE GOUGING - this place is no different. As an example, they were going to charge me 1 hour labor to install a cheap $30 vent that takes a shop 10-25 min to install, until i told them i just saw a guy on YouTube install one in 15 min. Then, they said, they'll only change me half an hour.
Another example: $350 "miscellaneous" charge for bolts it becomes obvious, they're just determining their desired profit & tacking on additional labor cost to meet that quota (good thing I wasn't paying for this out of pocket & Penske was.) & not to mention $500+ for taxes.
#3. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it appeared they did a good job because a small part of the frame that needed some welding done to it - to weld it back to the frame was painted & looked in tact. When I got ready to hook up to my trailer with my truck, I instantly noticed, they installed the wrong size crank handle, which made the crank handle rub against the trailer, chipping paint off the trailer & making it very difficult to turn. They had to have tested it upon installation & known that crank handle was the incorrect size (why didn't the install the correct size at that moment)(what if this was YOU).
I had the 2 doors replaced, which they did a exceptional job on (so it appeared).
Months later, the part of the frame they welded / painted seperared again & the lower hinge/hardware on the right door also seperated from the frame. Took it to another trailer repair shop in Oklahoma & they repaired it the correct way - paid out of pocket. (What if this was YOU?)
DO NOT TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT HERE.
THEY DON'T HAVE ADEQUATE STAFF SO IT'LL BE FOREVER TO GET YOUR EQUIPMENT BACK.
THEY MAKE UP LABOR CHARGES AS THEY GO.
THEY WILL REJECT YOUR CALLS AFTER YOU SUBMIT PAYMENT.
THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK - NO WARRANTY that tells you everything you need to know about this place.
Do not think you will be the exception. I hardly ever write reviews. THIS WILL BE YOU. You will have the same terrible experience that i have had if you do business with them - GUARANTEED.
