I cannot thank Vicki and Bill with Smith Funeral Home in NLR enough!! They were beyond kind and gracious when assisting me and my family in planning everything for my beloved husband and veteran who recently passed away. They had all the answers to all of my questions as well as helped me think of questions I didn't even have during this difficult time. They couldn't have made it any easier for me and I just don't know how to thank them enough for caring. We are definitely 'backdoor related/family' for life!

My Dad passed in late January and although I first met with Christina, Brent actually worked the service with me and did such a respectful job and was so helpful. Two months later I found an insurance policy that actually pays through the funeral home. He worked that issue and got it paid out. The company followed up with me this fall just to see how I was doing. Now as I put up my Christmas tree, I realized I didnt get a crystal angel of remembrance for Dad. Brent pointed me to Karen who instantly ordered one for me It will be here BEFORE Christmas. She also asked if she could pray with me. Such a thoughtful group of professionals. You couldnt ask for more.

Do not use this funeral home. My dad used them twice for his parents since this is where they had paid for their funeral services at. They dug the wrong hole for both of his parents. Not just one, but both of them. So we had to have the funeral service away from where she was supposed to be buried. I think this was very disrespectful to the family. They did however come out pretty quickly and re-dig the correct hole. When we went to the funeral home to make the arrangements, we even told the lady that that happened with my grandpa and we didnt want it to happen again with my grandma and it did. We specifically asked if we needed to put flags out again and they told us no and that they would make sure to dig the right hole and they didnt, they didnt even get close to where she was supposed to be buried at. Funeral expenses are not cheap, so you would think they could at least get this one thing righteveryone kept blaming it on each other so we dont know whose fault it actually was but maybe they need better communication skillsnot happy at all with this place.

Had the same problems when my dad past away.make sure and i mean make sure they dig the right place for the hole to be buried in.or god knows where it will be dug at..when you spend 650 bucks to dig a hole for your loved 1 you want it in the right spot.i do not care whos fault it was.but when you do it a second time around with my mom.sum thing is wrong...the hole digging should have been refunded i think...bad enough that you lose your mom but real bad when you do this..and they had the funeral service way down away from where she was supposed to buried at.with the valt setting out in the parking lot area with my moms casket setting on top of it.very disrespectful of the family and my mom.and i was always told your last ride is in the car they bring you in.not my mom.they lowered her in the vault and picked vault up and drove it up to the right spot to bury her.just all around disrespectful to everyone. So i do not recommend anybody using this place. just real sad to me...lot of people told me that they should be sued i just do not ever want to see that place again.
