Kalman Management Inc

Like all other reviewers, I had a terrible experience with this business. They do not maintain a physical location/the information listed on their website is either incorrect or false. I went to the location listed and spoke to a woman in the office they claim to be in, she reported that Kalman is not located in that office and to her knowledge they never have been. Additionally, when I tried calling the number listed there was no answer and no voicemail. It just rang continuously.

Kalman has been good so far and I will also give David White the benefit of the doubt for his extremely rude behavior in that he might be on medications or have some kind of neurological disorder that affects his impulses, etc. If he doesn't then I don't think he should be answering the phone.

David White is unprofessional, rude and the most unpleasant man I've ever met. Even my attorney and agent couldn't deal with him. He treated you like he is better than you. With every question he sent you to the rules and regulation book even if you talk with him right now on the phone!

Short of a lawsuit, the only way to deal with this company is to file a formal complaint against it with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Make sure your complaint is not frivolous. You can file a complaint online through the consumer portal. The website also maintains a public listing of disciplinary actions taken against various licensed professionals, including those in real estate and property management. The listing is accessed by year and month and is current through December 2018. One employee still currently employed with Kalman Management, one David White, in the past had his real estate license suspended for two years for falsifying a document related to his license renewal requirements. This is public record through IDFPR. Its important to do a background check of any management company your HOA entrusts with fiduciary duties enforced by Illinois statutes governing common interest communities. In short, do not hire Kalman Management.
