I had a very bad experience with this medical system again. I had a very critical conditions when I was at the ER at the time. There was a surgeon that deals with a specific procedure. Instead of aiding or fixing my issue due to the severity (in the ER), that surgeon decided not to conduct it because he wanted me to be part of their clinic. Told him that I would be covered due to my insurance. He guarantee that his clinic will get the necessary referral and I didn't have to do anything on my end. Later, I found out that their clinic never put any referral in. When I called that clinic, they told me I had to request a referral even though I mentioned that their Doctor (by name) said he would take care of it. So instead of getting what I needed to be done, it took a month or so to finally get a referral. When I finally got an appointment, they never provided me with any details of what I need to bring or prepare for (e.g. don't wear this or bring this). I got to see the doctor face to face and the only thing he told me was good luck and believed I wouldn't make it to our next destination because we were in the process of moving. He gave me a very sinister look and there was an extreme tension in the air as he told me that. We moved due to my spouse's job, and I got another doctor at our new location to be seen for my condition. My doctor informed me that I could of lost my limb because of my condition and they were prepared to amputate it. The doctor even questioned on why the doctor at CMMC didn't operate since it was a critical condition. My current doctor said I was lucky enough to keep my limb. My body did what it was suppose to do as they mentioned. I am blessed that my body responded to the trauma when it did and able to keep my limb. I questioned CMMC medical system on who they hire and how they conduct within their establishment. I found out that there are others that prefer to go to St. Marys or even drive to Portland to get seen. I met a family that even drove to Mass because they do not trust Maine's medical system.

I had never had a bad experience at cmmc... until yesterday. My mother went to the ED with concerning symptoms and she was treated extremely poor by the ER nurses. One nurse, whom my mother estimates was pretty young, was entirely condescending. Another, just flat out clipped tone of voice and rude; did not answer basic questions and had zero bedside manner. The doc belittled my sisters career as a medspa owner and aspiring FNP. As a RN and APRN, I can honestly say I've NEVER spoken to a patient the way myself and my mother were spoken to yesterday. I wouldn't dare. Patients are at their most vulnerable in hospitals and they look to you for guidance and expertise. I could have easily flaunted my advanced credentials when the RN spoke to me with disgust and annoyance in her tone, but I instead opted to take the high road. Do better, cmmc nurses. If you're burned out, leave. You are not better than nor above any of your patients and if you can't see that, you've chosen the wrong field entirely. Signed, BA, RN, APRN, PMHNP
