image Danielle at YellowfinLLC was very persistent in texting me about my vehicle. I’d filled out something on line and within minutes my phone was dinging all the time. I finally texted Danielle I was selling my car and wouldn’t be shipping it. Then changed my mine a few days later. I got the info as to what I needed to do as well as the charges. It was to have been $1999 from Hawaii to Florida. My departure from Hawaii was delayed 2 weeks or so. I paid Matson what they asked, and the upfront to Yellowfin. Then left my car with Matson on 3/2 when I flew out. The ship sailed 3/18, arrived 3/25. I heard no more about when my car was going to be in FL. Danielle told me she’d been on vacation for 2 weeks but 2 other dispatchers were assigned to my car. I eventually heard from her, that there had been NO TRANSPORT heading to FL from CALIF for 2 weeks! Supposedly it had to do with the cost of fuel….they didn’t want to drive. A few days later, (after sending an email daily for 3 days) I was contacted by Danielle. There was a spot on a trailer leaving on Sat.April 9. I signed paperwork electronically on Thurs saying I AGREED to pay and additional $400 cash for fuel as well as by CC $200 as a deposit to hold my spot. next thing i heard from the transporter (no name at that point) that another $80 was due??? BUt I signed a contract and that wasn’t in it. Seems it was dock fees paid to Matson to release my car. Today, I handed the money to the driver, i recounted it…too little…?? I needed another $40 for the dock fees. He showed me a receipt from Matson showing (now that I think of it?? $200) or was it $120?? I can’t remember and DIDN’T ask to keep the receipt. The communication could have been better. I was given a phone number for the driver but don’t think it was He after all? I did enter instructions for the driver as how best to get to me in FL. There was never communication to the driver. There was an intermediary . Long story shorter, I thought that car was to arrive tomorrow (Wed.). I received a text saying the car would come y’day, Monday…then it would be a bit later, 1700-2000. Then that was cancelled about 1830.It would arrive today, this morning. No time estimate and no communication. I was backing out from my home (borrowed car) when I got a text. The driver was here! I wasn’t sure where, but it was about 1 1/2 blocks away. It’s a long vehicle and it was where it needed to be. I drove over there to meet the driver. That is when I was told the money wasn’t enough. He drove my car to my home, I got $40, gave it to him and returned him to the truck. I will say, communication was almost impossible. He spoke no English. However, he was a VERY NICE man. I have no complaints and was most happy to have my own car, at it’s new home. The drivers have a thankless job. YEs, they get paid for it, yes the choose to do it. But it must be boring, lonely and the cars don’t have much to say. His truck was full.My car was the first off! 7 more. Stops in Orlando, Ft.Meyers, and finally Miami..
my take away is shipping with the gas prices due to the resident stopping our oil production, Putin and the war, is high. There won’t be a firm price and it will only get worse is my guess. I’d give Octavio a 5* for personality and best he could do with limited English. The rest of this, I think communication could have been much better. I think Yellowfin could/should have related that there were no trailers in CA going to FL and they didn’t know when there would be one. The additional monies seemed to be variable, and I’m still not sure what happened. I’d give /yelllowfin a 3*. I don’t want to do this again…but have a furniture shipment somewhere and no word on it or HOW MUCH MORE in spite of an email to them on Thurs. A phone call tomorrow is in order.. Good luck and we prepared for changes and charges you didn’t plan on.

image I paid a company called RoadRunner Auto Transport $1,045 to have my car transported from FL to CA. Then I paid an additional $100 to have things in my car. I used their services 5 years ago to ship a different car I had. There was no issue and they were very transparent. When I spoke on the phone to the man who coordinated the transport he asked me to pay for it right then.. when I received the contract the bottom left of the paperwork states “there is no amount due upon delivery.”
So, the driver and company who was assigned to my car was HD transport express inc.
the driver was supposed to arrive on Monday the 23 of March. He did not call until around 4/5pm Monday telling me he would be coming the following day. (That’s fine). March 24 comes along and he calls me in the afternoon to tell me he won’t be able to get the car until 6-8pm. So when he arrived he was very unprofessional, super unfriendly and barely looked me in my eye.
He had an issue with my car having stuff in it to which I told him I paid extra to have this in my vehicle.
He had me sign a paper he did not discuss any type of payment owed to him at the time of delivery..
He took my car and gave me this bill of landing.
Now he requests that I pay $800 to have my car upon delivery. And of course my hands are tied because I signed a stupid contract that I naturally assumed was just be allowing them to take my car since I had already paid out over $1,000 and was lead to believe I did not owe any upon delivery as stated in my contract with RoadRunner Auto Transport.
Now, all of this wouldn’t be an issue if the companies had been transparent with their customers. auto transport should have told me there would be a possibility I could be charged an additional amount on top of the $1,145 I have already paid in full.
The gentleman handling my car could have told me that his company would charge me an additional $800 instead of being extremely standoffish and pushing me to sign. In addition to this, his handwriting is extremely illegible.
I feel cheated and frankly I feel scammed. I do not recommend either companies to anyone. I am extremely unsatisfied with the way they allow their drivers to behave and with the fact that they are NOT transparent about the additional money they intend to take from you. It would be in the best interest of the two companies to prioritize integrity and transparency to their customers.
I will NEVER use either service again.
