Their "Free Day Away" in the spring of 1996 for the soliders at Fort Leonard Wood started my faith journey home the Catholic Church. Having not been raised in any church by two prodigal Catholics running from the Church, I cannot fully express how awesome it was that they provided a place of refuge for me, a lost child of the Catholic Church. 18 years out wandering in the wilderness alone and undefended, turned me around, 17 years walking back to my Church Home town. 10 years to find the Church of my ancestors where I had an angel smuggle me in the side door wearing blue digital camo pants and booney cap. We are the body of Christ. Thank you.

I will be forever grateful to this church for the outreach work that they do. I accepted Christ as my savior at this church back in 2001 during the free day away event that they held for the United States Army recruits. I didnt attend church back at home. Like many others I mostly went to the free day away because it was a break from basic training and Im glad I did. A lot has happened in my life since then and I can see God has been with me every step of the way. Ive been serving and raising my children in my local church for many years now and Im thankful to Tabernacle Baptist Church for giving me the opportunity to visit. Ill just add that I dont remember the sermon from that day but it must have been good to get me out of my seat Thanks for everything you do. You are making a difference.
