Friday St Patrick's day to Sunday the 19th 2023. The trash can wasn't emptied when we arrived but was taken care of immediately. May guess was a maintenance person left the items in it. Our room was clean well other then that. As a former housekeeper at a sister hotel. I check everything before we open the suitcase. The elevator showed where someone had written something on the stainless steel door like children do to car windows. That was immediately cleaned off. Day shift was warm and inviting each time I interacted with them or passed by them. Night number 2 the Fire alarm sounded @10:40ish Saturday night in 22 feels like 10 weather according to the weather app but felt more like it was in the negative with the wind blowing through the tunnel after it crossed the open river. This was set off from room 904 HOT shower steam. We took the back stairwell and I was sucking air through a coffee straw (asthma) and a twisted ankle somewhere on the way down. No employees gave us the all clear. I stood watch and seen the fire department loading up and asked them about 11:20pm. While my teenagers was in my car getting warm in the free parking lot across the street. Employees on night shift basically informed me they didn't evacuate us so there was no need to have been outside. Had it been a real fire some would have knocked on our door. This is why I took a star away. Sorry the alarm inside our room evacuated us along with the ones in the hallway. Fire or not the alarm sounded for everyone to exit the building for our safety. Hotel staff and management needs to have a meeting on this issue of safety. Customers need to know when it's safe to come back inside. Each room needed to have been called to insure safety and wellness of all who was inhabited it. (Ex: Mrs Graves, it's safe to re-enter the building and proceed to your room. We're deeply sorry for the inconvenience of tonights event. I see you have a party of three listed as one adult and two minors. Was everyone in your party able to safely make it out? *Followed by: Has everyone in your party been able to return to your room? Could your party use some extra hot cocoa, coffee, teas or blankets to warm up with tonight?) We are all sick from Saturday night. Being outside with wet heads, PJs, jacket/hoodies and throw blankets. The sweet folks did comp the refrigerator and microwave fees as a form of apology for the inconvenience before we woke up the next morning to check out. Over all it was a good stay with a couple hiccups with to my understanding new upper management learning the ropes as they go. Rooms: Listed above Safety: Listed above
