Dear "Me", Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are disappointed you did not feel your experience was of the highest quality level which is what we strive for in every interaction. As a surgeon my main priority is keeping patients safe during and after surgery. This means two things after a blepharoplasty (I do not know if you had an upper or lower blepharoplasty done): leaving enough skin to ensure a patient can close their eyes and not changing the shape, and thus, the character, of the patient's eyes/face. I discuss this with all patients prior to undergoing surgery so they understand I will err on the conservative side when removing skin (i.e. I can always take more out but I cannot but more back in). In addition I mark the planned amount of skin excision and show this to the patient in the mirror before surgery to make sure they agree with what my planned resection is. If they feel any changes need to be done then they are made at that time. Finally we always test to make sure the eyelids can close after we make our markings. It takes 1-3 months to see final results from an eyelid surgery. If, at that time, patients feel not enough of a change results (which is rare), we discuss the reasons for that: conservative skin excision, perhaps only a small amount of skin could be safely removed, or the eyebrows can pull down due to the shortening of skin. Sometimes, Botox or a small browlift is needed following the procedure which we discuss. Finally, we always offer patients additional skin removal after a period of time if we feel it is safe and beneficial, We offered the same to you as well to try and get more of a difference to the point where you would be satisfied with your results. Please note this offer still stands should you choose to accept it- we typically will offer reasonable "nip/tucks" until the patient feels happy.
