My husband Andrew Lewis was only on hospice 2 days not even 2 full days when he passed. The night before the nurse said hes not knocking at deaths door, the next morning he was gone. As I noticed his breathing pattern had changed and there was mottling all over his feet I called hospice and within 5 minutes a sweet kind nurse came out he was gone when she arrived and I helped her give him his Angel bath. Afterwards or maybe before the bath she wanted a witness as she destroyed his meds. Im upset even still but not mad just that she did this when not one med was provided by hospice. The hospital he was at provided the meds from their pharmacy as he wasnt even on hospice when we left the hospital. We put him it 2 days after arriving home. Just to me thats like stealing because it didnt belong to them, was NOT ordered by them and so I feel more education needs to be provided so this same mistake will not happen to other family. I told her even in my grief but evidently not loud enough because of my grief. So other than that they would of gotten a 5 star and telling a person someones not knocking at deaths door probably isnt the right thing either as its first the wrong verbiage to use and it gives false hope when less than 12 hours later my husband was gone. Id honestly like the meds back and let me destroy them because they were in my home and taken out without my permission not taken but thrown out. I didnt expect it to upset me and I dont do drugs but thats not the principle or pay me for the meds that were destroyed. Thanks Janice Lewis in regards to my dear husband Andrew Lewis

The recruiter, Rhonda Haile was extremely unprofessional. I heard good things about the company which is what led me to apply. She was not at all welcoming during the phone call, nor did she lead me to want to further my career with this company. I do not recommend picking this company as a long term career considering how they treat potential new employees.

My father passed away in peace and with dignity thanks to the wonderful staff at KC Hospice House. They are all truly angels doing Gods work and I sincerely cant thank each and every one of them enough. What a blessing this beautiful facility is to the Kansas City community.
