Amazing work! Great prices and super helpful. John was trusted with a family heirloom fly rod that I wanted restored for my cousin. John gave me an update after looking the rod over and we agreed on a fair price for the restoration which was lower than what I was expecting. John had the rod ready in less time than I was expecting and not only did it turn out beautifully, he gave my cousin a small box of flies and a free fly lesson. Far exceeded my expectations! We recently purchased a vintage Fenwick and reel and put in an order for a custom rod to be built for fishing smaller streams. A rod sock was made for the rod, and a small bag was made for the reel. John is also extremely knowledgeable about Fly lines and added the perfect reel to balance the rod, as well as the perfect line. I am also a new bamboo rod builder and John has been invaluable with his advice and encouragement. He is patient and treats every question with respect, even the dumb ones! Overall, John is extremely knowledgeable about rods, and I will definitely be adding to my collection through The Fly Rod Company.

John helped me select a blank and assembled the materials i needed. He share expertise to improve my rod building skills. John does beautiful work making rods of all types...if i did like to build rods i would have John build them fo me!
