Extremely Dissatisfied with Lowes: Horrible Customer Service Experience I recently had a highly disappointing encounter with Damien in the returns department at Lowes. The level of unhelpfulness and lack of professionalism displayed by Damien was truly disheartening. I am compelled to share my experience to warn others about the unsatisfactory customer service at this establishment. Firstly, Damien refused to provide a refund for Lowe's items that went over the 90-day return period, not even offering store credit as an alternative. This inflexible approach was frustrating and did not align with reasonable customer service standards. Furthermore, during a subsequent visit, I used the self-checkout option and utilized my phone number to access my account. However, when I needed to exchange a defective product for another, Damien mishandled the transaction. Instead of a simple exchange, he proceeded to process a refund and created a new sale for the replacement item. This unnecessary complication wasted my time and showcased Damien's incompetence. To add to it, Damien requested my ID and even asked for the last digits of my social security number. I questioned the necessity of providing such sensitive information, as the self-checkout system did not require it. Damien insisted that it was impossible, implying that I was mistaken. Aggravated and feeling unjustly treated, I opted to complete the transaction myself at a regular checkout lane. It is evident that Damien's unprofessional conduct and attempts to label me as a fraud were inexcusable. This level of customer service is simply unacceptable for a company like Lowes. I hope my review serves as a cautionary tale for others, urging them to be cautious when dealing with the returns department and to set their expectations accordingly. Lowes, as a reputable company, needs to address these issues promptly and implement necessary improvements to ensure a positive customer experience.
