I went in for a second opinion for some implant work and they requested a specific xray to complete said assessment, or they would have to do another xray and charge me. Fair enough, l arranged xray to be sent. The day of my appointment, unfortunately, the xray didn't get sent correctly, yet she looked in my mouth about 45 seconds. And then she made the assessment WITHOUT looking at the xrays. And just wow, the office still charged me the $150 instead of the discussed $93 amount l originally called about. So basically, l was charged $150 for her to look in my mouth for 45 seconds WITHOUT the xray (which l was previously told was absolutely necessary to guage what's going on). I have seemingly been scammed, taken advantage of, and overall cheated out of $57 for a 10 minute appointment where she actually didn't do anything. Well, you'll reap what you sow...and it'll be multiplied, whether you sow a good seed. . .or bad.

I visited Dr. Darcy after my previous dentist, Christopher Moore, left Houston and passed on his office and clients to her. At my first visit with Darcy, she said I had problems with some of the fillings in my molars which required some sort of pricey treatment. I was surprised since I had been visiting Moore for years and he had consistently told me that I was taking great care of my teeth and never said I was in need of anything beyond my regular six month cleanings. Feeling skeptical, I didn't make a follow-up appointment and instead tried another, very highly regarded dentist in the area for my next cleaning. The feedback from this dentist was exactly the same as Moore: your teeth are in great shape, keep doing what you are doing. Two other people I know who had been long-time patients of Moore, and who then went to Darcy when he left, had the same experience. Dire news about the state of their teeth and how the solution was expensive treatments, contradicting everything their dentists had told them before. I know dentists have to make money, but trying to push unnecessary treatments is unethical.
