I see a few bad reviews for these guys and I wanted to write one to help give a little insight. I just recently rented a 15' truck from this location, the truck and blankets were in great condition and the service was excellent. I think people should consider that this uhaul location is at a saddlery business in Hot Springs South Dakota, run by the owners of said saddlery business and solely by them. Hot Springs as well as most of the Black Hills runs at it's own pace and things don't always go as planned for everyone involved. Being late or trucks being 100 miles away from where they should be is honestly to be expected in this part of the country. In regions such as this calling on the phone and having a conversation with the folks that run the store is your best bet for quick and efficient service. Also plan ahead at least a week in advance because it takes some real effort to get the trucks you need all the way out here when there aren't any currently available.

I called to see if I could get something to tow a car and they didn't have anything. They tried to send us to Nebraska but that was rediculos. They ended up sending us to Casper 3 hours out of the way and didn't even offer to five us a small discount. Never had worse service from U-Haul.

Personally, I had a great experience renting a Uhaul 26-foot truck and tow-behind. The folks were personable, endured everything was ready for my 5:30 pick up, and gave great instructions on loading my vehicle on the tow-behind.

Terrible. Rented uhaul, manager was half hour late to work, took 90 minutes to get three people trucks. Manager was rude. Claimed uhaul doesnt wash rental blankets and gave us dirty ones. Other locations were apalled, u haul customer service advised not to use blankets. Uhaul told us to exchange blankets at another location... Which is an hour away. So we're moving 2,000 miles with no blankets. Thanks uhaul! ...
