They took my 10k check deposited, and then when the contract was canceled they assigned MY check to someone else and refused to rewrite the check to me. This was after I had immediately returned the check alerting them of their error. Abhorrent and I feel illegal behavior. Now I am left without 10k.

*Must read if you are planning on hiring Patterson Schwartz to help you find a rental. This does not pertain to the buying/selling side as I have not utilized that service of theirs before. *

First off, the person who showed us places and worked with us was great. She seemed to truly care about our needs and interests. She did everything in her power to accommodate us. I believe that the fault truly lies with the company she works for.
We bring in together over 112k/year. We have good credit scores. We have no evictions, and I have worked for my union since 2016. Patterson Schwartz was happy to take my $60 fee, but for whatver reason, they decided that we were not good enough for them and denied us multiple times for residences ranging from $1950/month, to $1400/month. The realtor we are working with is nice, but that doesn't get us in a place. They wasted everyone's time, they ruined our chances at getting into the properties we were denied for whatever reason which I believe the fault is with them, and they got paid for all of this on my dime. They take their time just to fail at what I paid them for. The realtor mentioned that there are some issues within management, and that was part of the reason they took their time with applying on our behalf and that it frustrates her. After all this, the realtor said that maybe we should look at non patterson schwartz locations. I am, just not with them because now they've proved themselves unnecessary, and our interests just are not aligned anymore. I will learn from my mistakes by not looking at reviews prior to hiring any outfit like theirs, and probably just apply on our own now. Life has been very difficult for us lately, and we believed that it would have worked out easier than looking on our own. Months later, and with lowered expectations, we have yet to find a residence. I truly believe if we had applied on our own behalf at the residences that denied us, we would not have been denied.
UPDATE: My partner and I were approved by another big name company for a rental unit that'll cost us $1600/month.

I bought my home back in October from the bear area, going to leave the realtors name anonymous.
Little flukes can always happen, things can fluctuate, and our loan closed about 3 weeks after original date.
The home closed, and thats the most important thing right?
Not for my relator. She was very pushy and she forgot I was the customer. Her mentality was basically protecting the other side. Whats the big deal, if its 3 weeks later? The owner of the home moved to be with his daughter, both realtors know the story and could have been much more smoother, instead they put on a show, oh the mortgage will fail, the other realtor is already calling other buyers - this is nothing but a classic realtor show, instead the realtor coulda been like hey all is good, a little fluke happened in the mortgage, we just need a little more time
Everything got finished beautifully. So was it worth it to make a show? Please remember to tell your realtors to work and please your customers, and be on their side!
