    DO NOT COME HERE. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO GRAYLING OR ANY SURROUNDING HOSPITAL. I do not even know where to begin with this facility. As a mother and nurse I am extremely disappointed and in disbelief in the lack of care for my daughter. I brought my 10 month old baby in for a fever and extreme drowsiness after she took a spill trying to stand and hit her head in the process. My daughter woke up in the middle of the night extremely hot and unable to settle. When I arrived there were NO OTHER PATIENTS in the hospital. The front desk lady was rude and unprofessional. As I sat in the waiting room the lady at the front desk sat there gossiping with one of the security guards. Some time later we were finally taken back to a room. The nurse asked me to explain what was going on. She took her temperature and vitals, said nothing, and walked out. The doctor came in and I explained I was worried that she may have a concussion due to her symptoms, he seemed annoyed and extremely arrogant. He took some vitals, ordered a RSV and COVID test and walked out. A different nurse then came in to take the swabs, and left without saying anything. We then sat there and waited for an hour with no direction or answers (mind you this hospital is empty except for the staff). I finally walked up to the front desk to see what was going on and the lady became extremely disrespectful when I mentioned the wait and said well it is a hospital youre going to wait. I told her I have had no answers. I asked her what my daughters temperature was or if she could call a nurse or the doctor to go over things and she refused. Finally after going back and forth with her for 10 minutes she called the nurses station and said they will come back to the room in 10 minutes with the results of the swabs they took. I waited 20 minutes and heard the nurse on the other side of the door say my daughter tested negative for RSV and COVID. After waiting some more time, still no one came back and I finally decided to leave. Do not waste your time here, the lack of communication and care for a sick baby is absolutely disgusting.

    I have a problem with being told that I will be notified only IF there is anything wrong with findings after an annual check-up. I had x-rays and blood tests performed two months ago for specific reasons and have never received any feedback. I understand that the patient portal is intended to be used for this purpose, which would be acceptable to me, but there are no updates there either. What's the purpose of the patient portal if it is not maintained?

    Time after time this hospital never fails to remind me why so many people from Gaylord travel for their healthcare. From the attendant forgetting she left the tourniquet on, to the "doctor" telling me that the bruising left from their IV work "won't kill me", and then losing my bodily fluids sent for testing. Never once have they diagnosed any of my problems correctly so why should I think they could handle a simple urine test?! Joke is on me!

My husband had a CT of his brain done recently that was under $2000 and an MRI of his brain for $4000 - a far, far more expensive procedure. After the insurance paid their portion, Otsego Memorial Hospital sent me a bill for $3990, - THIS IS WAY MORE THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE. I am very sad for the community who rely on this hospital. When I received an explanation of benefits from the insurance company, I was shocked to see those charges. I called the insurance company and spoke with their financial department, they were as - if not more - shocked by the amount OMH had billed and said that their average in-network discount is 70% - at OMH, it was less than 20%. They told me abdominal CT scans are typically billed $750-2000. I applied for financial assistance - they supposedly "never got it". I reapplied, they sent me a denial letter without an explanation but with an option to appeal. I emailed the financial department TWICE to provide an explanation and they do not respond. How can I appeal if I can't see how they came up with their answer/their math errors?! DO NOT USE OMH - Drive the extra miles to Petoskey and go to a great hospital!
