image Please reconsider leaving your loved ones in their care. The staff is egregious under qualified. The on staff social worker was unable to assist my family with routine matters, she seemingly had no more information or access to resources than the family. Its imperative that an active social worker is placed in this position as they are crucial advocates for the disable and elderly! Not having a competent person on this position is the very first disservice. The staff, once they notice attentive family members seem to grow disengaged and fearful. They all lacked basic customer service etiquette and just seem to be going through the motions. Here are a couple of instances I experienced after this facility was recommended for my grandparent. She was primarily admitted for rehab and recovery after an amputation. However, the Wound Care team informed the family that they were only required to tend to her bedsore not her residual limb- leading to infection. The patient was often left soiled and crying. She never received certain requested equipment necessary to make sure she was comfortable and not in pain. Speaking of pain, they would forget to give her her medicine. On one a occasional the staff argued that she has been given her medication but quickly discovered the medicine in the pocket of a staff member. Other staff members were sure to inform us of how much her medication would sell for on the streets. one nurse sat at her station and even after pushing the call button you were required to walk to her. She seemed underwhelmed and uninterested. The nurse administrator did listen to our complaints but it seemed she was aware of a certain shift of people known for not completing their necessary task. All in all, this facility isnt safe. Choose another faculty and always check on your loved ones it can mean life or death!

image This place should be closed and overhauled. There is no hot water to take a bath ,they giving cold baths to these elderly people. The food comes cold. They put a therapeutic mattress that doesn't work and you can't put a sheet or anything on it so I'm sleeping on a piece of plastic. The pad is so uncomfortable it has the biggest Dip that I've ever seen. Everytime I try to sit up I fall back in hole. I pushed button because I needed to get cleaned up after bowel movement, sat in it for a love them
n hour. This place is the worse place for rehab, if I had known it was like this I would have went .somewhere else I'm seriously thinking about checking my myself out. Don't bring your love one here but g y

image The only reason I am giving Meridian 4 stars is because of the reason my husband was there - he has Alzheimers. They are not equipped to handle patients with dementia. It's not that they didn't try, but it is not in their wheelhouse. I have since moved my husband to the Richard A Anderson Veterans Home in Pearland. This is a true Memory Care facility and one that will specifically tend to those needs. If your loved ones need rehab or short term care, I recommend Meridian. If they need specialized long term care, I would look elsewhere. The key is to visit often no matter where you go.
