ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Ft Myers West)

My mother-in-law was released from the hospital to rehab and this was the only bed available for her in town at the time. The room had pealing wallpaper, old furniture, dirty linens, and a bathroom with black grout. Many of the meals were served in take out boxes with flimsy plastic utensils. We rang the bell to and no one would respond. It is terribly understaffed, and without a doubt the most depressing healthcare facility I've ever seen. I was mortified. Where are the healthcare inspectors? This place needs to be shut down. DON'T let anyone release your loved ones to this facility.

I worked at Heartland for a couple of years, be careful when reading comments. Some 5-star comments state that they are employees, other's do not state that they are employees. There were times that we ordered to leave positive reviews over social media to increase our ratings if we intended on keeping our jobs.

My family member was in there for a week before having to return to the hospital. This experience was just awful. After making my 24 hour in advance appointment I show up to wait for them to bring her outside. When she wanted to go in after our 30 minutes (only time allotted) the process and wait was another 30 minutes, no water as they did not even send them with any. I dropped labeled cloths and shoes with a list, 1/2 her items were missing. The facility is greatly understaffed from what I witnessed with other patients outside as well as wait times. Lisa the social worker was the nicest part, other than that the staff was short and rude.I will be sure nobody I know goes to this place!
