HCA Florida Westside Hospital

I went in for a kidney stone and was impressed with how quickly the ER got me into a CT scan and processed. I stayed 2 days and the service while I was inpatient is why this is only 3 stars. Plenty of room for improvement with the nurses there. Communication between them being the main issue. Too many times medicine was provided over an hour late causing unnecessary pain. Plenty of apologies but it would happen again and again.

My mom went into ER for a stroke scare and they ended up finding at least 4 more things that were wrong with her. I cannot say enough about the staff and doctors in ICU or on the 5th floor. Everyone treated my sweet momma with the upmost care. The doctors and nurses kept me informed and they treated her with dignity right up to the very end. Thank you to all of you who were involved for making her last days as pain free as you could. As her daughter I appreciate it more than you will ever know

I came here hoping for great outcome but not so much I was admitted for three days and experienced good and bad bed side manner and the health care here seems more like a business and the person doesnt really matter! I had a nurse who must of had a bad day I expressed to her my IV needed to be replaced I was ignored although blood was soaked through, I asked for pain medication in which she deliberately delay to deliver with no explanation and last I was advised to wait in between two exams in which she insisted not true until the department called to confirm I had to wait 4 hours this action and neglect made me no longer confident in the care that she may give which was none! I called administration made no difference once an organization does not listen to the patient as a woman of color and with so many stereotypes around medical professionals believing sick patients I no longer have confidence that HCA can provide me with level of care I deserve this is my second experience here it will definitely be my last!

I recently had the privilege of receiving care at the emergency department of Florida Westside Hospital, and I am compelled to share my experience with the world. The level of compassion, professionalism, and dedication exhibited by the entire team. Then I was transferred to ICU and Nurse Hong, surpassed all expectations and left an indelible mark on me. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, I was met with a sense of urgency and efficiency that immediately put me at ease. The entire emergency department staff worked seamlessly together, demonstrating a high level of expertise and coordination in managing a variety of cases. However, it was Nurse Hong in ICU who truly stood out for her exceptional level of care and commitment to her patients. Nurse Hong's warmth and empathy were evident from our very first interaction. She approached me with a reassuring smile and a calming presence that instantly alleviated my fears and uncertainties. Throughout my time in the emergency department, all staff remained by my side, offering words of comfort and support that went above and beyond the call of duty. She took the time to explain each step of the treatment process in a clear and concise manner, making sure I was informed and involved in decisions regarding my care. Despite the fast-paced and demanding nature of the ICU department, Nurse Hong never once wavered in her commitment to providing me with the best possible care. She anticipated my needs, advocated on my behalf, and went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable and well-cared for throughout my stay. In conclusion, the entire team at Florida Westside Hospital's emergency department and ICU deserves commendation for their exceptional level of care and service.
