I would not use Greg Lemay to home inspect a dog house I used him in 2004 for a six unit and was aware it needed some work. He asked the realtor for the seller why the guy had insulation on the basement wall and the realtor said who knows. Well three years later it cost me 80,000.00 to hold up the house and put in a new foundation because under the insulation that could have been moved it was hiding the mess the foundation was. And I would think if in the business he is in he could or should have been able to tell they removed too much of the back fill of the stone foundation to make parking. When I called to see what my recourse would be with him. He said he is not responsible for things covered. I am not a home inspector and that why I hired one, but in my opinion neither is Greg!

Greg did the inspection on my, now home, back in 1999 and I was very pleased with his work. He caught some issues that, while were not big enough to back out of the sale, saved me money in the long run. I've just used him again on a purchase I'm making and again, caught concerns that I can now plan for. We also used his service when my mother was buying her home.
The above was last year. Now, I'm not so happy with his inspections and not so much for the things he didn't catch but for the fact that I attempted reach him about my radon test results asking for contact info on the company it was sent to. He never returned any of my calls. It cost me 70 for the test and I never got the results and had to purchase another one. Turns out it was loaded with radon...not really surprised though. So I ended up having to install a system. Again, it's New England so not surprised. However, he should have returned my calls.

I will not recommend him. He does very bad business. Does not get the report in 24hours as promised and doesn't answer phone calls.

If I could give 1 star I would! Never use Greg Lemay Consulting, please view all the yelp reviews!! He is very unprofessional. During our inspection he arrived late and just ran through the house and was done in under an hour. He promised the report that night and we didn't receive it, called 3 times the next day and still did not receive it. Finally 5 days later my realtor was able to get all but the pest inspection which was the one inspection we needed. Because of him we may have to push back our closing date. He smelled of alcohol and when we spoke on the phone he sounded drunk. He took no notes so my report is quite generic, he asked for signatures and a check before finishing. We had to force him to look at the basement and to check outlets. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone!!! Do your research he is a crap inspector doing a crap job!
