Aunt Pat is utilizing a 30 day respite/rehab stay at Mt Vernon. What a Wonderful Team of caring professionals working there to help smooth out the always difficult circumstances, especially during the current pandemic. I have never been to a nursing home without house cleaning. My dad has been there since October. His floors have NEVER BEEN CLEAN!!! I have asked several times for them to be cleaned. They told me the maintenance man does the cleaning and you have to put in a request to have it swept and mopped!!! I give in. I will bring a broom and mop in and do it myself! And forget about getting anything you need from them expect to wait anywhere from 1hour to 2 hours for a response or you have to ask 3 times before you receive any response.

My 94 yr old cousin has been a resident of Mt. Vernon for nearly four years. She has gone from assisted senior living to the dementia unit. I have nothing but praise for the care and compassion that has been given to Rose over the past years. When I leave there after a visit, I feel assured that she will be cared for in a respectful and caring manner. I rest easy knowing she is in a safe place. Many thanks to all of the staff who has come to be like family.
