My guitar is in worse shape then it was before I went to have it repaired

I brought two guitars in to these guys. My first experience was pleasant, but I still never left satisfied. My guitar was not in the condition I was expecting. However, the second guitar (an ibanez RG with a floyd rose tremolo) came back to me in far worse condition than I gave to them. And worse... when I brought it back to discuss the issues... the guy denied it. I brought it in to have it re-strung and the floating bridge set up. I also wanted a buzz on the 6th string worked out. A few days later they called, said it was done. My wife went to pick it up, and Val (the guy I dealt with first, nice guy...owner maybe?) Played it before handing to my wife, and said he wanted to keep it because it wasn't right yet... still buzzing. A few days later I picked it up brought it home and the buzz was worse and now included the 5th string on more frets! And there was a ticking when I use the whammy bar and it wouldn't stay in tune (a completely new problem) So I brought it back expecting them to happily fix the problems... not so much. Val wasnt there and the other guy didn't care. He said it needed fret work and neck work and I didn't pay enough money for them to fix all those problems. My guitar did not need frets changed or filed, the neck was straight, and I just fixed it myself with a little help from a buddy in the biz. The floating bridge just needed raised and lubed. The buzz is gone and the ticking and it stays in tune. Since it was all in the bridge I asked them to adjust for me (for 50 bucks) I expected it would be done the right way. And I had to undo everything they did that I spent 50 bucks on, to fix it. I got ripped off, and then called a cheap lier when I came back to discuss it. I'd love to support this local small business, but sadly I don't think I'll ever go back.

This place gets a bad rap! Not as much vintage gear as the days gone by, but still has excellent inventory and knowledgeable staff! Also have teachers for most stringed instruments.

Come by for a sorry story about the owners life. Not a very professional place.
