My mother in law moved in here less than a month ago. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. First of all, the apartment she was given is not the apartment she was shown, nor the apartment she was ok moving in to. Less than a week before moving day, she was informed that the apartment they showed her had a problem and wasn't ready. But the apartment they gave her was not ready either. The carpets are disgusting and there was dirt all around the kitchen floors. It hadn't been deep cleaned prior to her moving in. None of the walls have been painted recently. The ceiling fan in the kitchen hits the cupboard door when it opens, and the light was burnt out when they had her move in. (They told her she could buy shorter fan blades and change the light bulb) She was missing a drip pan on the stove and can't use the large burner without one. All of my mother in law's attempts to get maintenance up to her apartment have fallen on deaf ears, or she had to nag for days to get help. So, I went down to the office yesterday to ask the manager to bring her a drip pan and replace the light bulb. She wrote down my requests. (Apparently, the maintenance man, who lives in the building, only works 2 days a week). Then I mentioned the letter that everyone got on their doors a couple weeks ago, stating that they are not allowed to leave their apartment in their pajamas. I told her (Wendy) that she can't actually tell people they're not allowed to walk in the halls in their pajamas and slippers. She got extremely defensive. She told me that women leave their apartments with their breasts hanging out. Ok, but she knows who they are, so why not deal with them directly? The letter doesn't say to be covered up. It says no pajamas or slippers outside of their apartments, along with a bunch of other nonsense. She threw me out of her office after telling me "don't tell me how to do my job" and then, very unprofessionally, texted my mother in law and told her not to send me down there again and she never wants to see me in her office again. No one sent me. I went on my own free will. This place recently switched ownership, so I'm hoping that positive changes will come from that. Because had we known that they would not give her the apartment she was ok with, she never would have put her notice in at her other building. She would have waited for something else to open up. Also, we found out more than a week after she moved in that she just got approved by HUD. The manager moved her in BEFORE she had the approval, which we were unaware of at the time. Had she been denied, then what? Would she have been kicked out with nowhere to go? Just last night, we hung her camping chair in the closet, across TWO hooks on the wall. It weighs maybe 10 pounds, which again, was distributed across TWO hooks. Both hooks broke out of the wall less than an hour after the chair was hung on them. Almost like the building just knows that it should be falling apart. Hopefully, with new ownership, will come positive changes.

Hi Stephanie,Thank you for your concerns. We know it can be difficult when moving and apologize for the issues your mother in law has faced. We were out of drip pans but have since replaced the one that was missing. We also have some new blades to try on the ceiling fan that are shorter. We strive to provide a pleasant place for all individuals and hope your mother in law will enjoy our community.Thank you,Wendy KingPennel Park Commons Community Manager
