I had been a 10-year customer of Piper Sprinkler and have probably given them thousands of dollars of business at my previous and current homes UNTIL today, when I encountered the most unprofessional attitude I've ever experienced from any service provider I've done business with. I set up a sprinkler restart appointment three weeks ago and indicated to Renee I'd also need repairs - my cracked vacuum breaker and sprinkler lines in the yard that my dog had chewed through. The appointment was for tomorrow; this morning Renee calls and asks if she can move me up to this afternoon, and since I was flexible, I agreed to this. I reminded her that the work involved repair and told her I had bought a vacuum breaker that was an exact match for my cracked one. Jerry's two-hour window (for which I rearranged my work schedule, again to accommodate THEIR request to change) came and went and when he showed up ten minutes after the end of the two hours, I explained to him again what I needed; immediately he told me he was only scheduled for an hour and there's no way he'd get all that work done; the vacuum breaker alone would take at least an hour. He also mentioned that they wouldn't install my replacement part - which I fully understand the reasons for - but right away told me that I "probably wouldn't like the price" on his vacuum breaker part as it was three times (!) what it cost at Home Depot. It seemed that he just didn't want to do the work - he started carrying on about how he had 10 other appointments that day and it "wasn't fair to customers waiting and having their lawns burned up" by the sun for someone else getting repair work. I guess my lawn was an exception to that?? I reiterated that I made it clear to Renee exactly what I needed TWICE over the phone and told him he was starting to make it sound like it was my fault for needing the repair and only giving him an hour on the schedule to do it. I honestly was ready to work something out where he'd do what he could and come back to finish another time but just like that I saw him getting back into his van and I said, "you're LEAVING??" Incredulous I told him he'd be getting this one-star review and he told me it didn't matter as he was retiring soon anyway and told me to "stop wasting his f@#!king time." I told him I'd be finding another sprinkler company. What was most amusing after the fact was receiving a cancellation email with "Hello Dan DO NOT WORK FOR" in the salutation (see picture) so apparently they inadvertently let their "blacklisted" customers in on that fact by adding that comment within their name field in their "database." They were once a good company but I think it's time for them to ride off into the sunset.

It"s been much too long that Piper Sprinkler has been taking care of my sprinkling system, and I have not written a note of thanks. I have been in my home almost ten years, and I believe at least eight of those years, Piper has been taking care of my needs. I trust them enough, not to be home when they come, and to allow my Mom's caregiver to give them access to my home and to blowout the system, or set the system, depending on the time of year. I come from a generation where trust and integrity were pretty much commonplace. One did business with the same folks so you get to know them and they get to know you. I consider Piper to be a pleasant breath of fresh air from the past. When a handshake was enough, and it was commonplace to see one fly the flag of the the United States, and when church and belief in God were the norm, not the exception. Piper brings those memories back to me. Their technicians take great care of my system, and my lawns show it! The friendly service I've experienced over the years, from the time I call the office to set up and appointment until the time I write the check, there is a friendly voice, and one willing and eager to help. I really appreciate Piper and their warm friendly, family demeanor. I have, without hesitation recommended this excellent company to many, many friends, and will continue to do so. I have used Piper Sprinkler since the mid-80's, initially at home in NW Denver, and when located to Westminster in '91 to currently. They are the only Sprinkler business I would ever choose. They installed a new system in home in Denver, and then replaced an older system in Westminster home. I have no other words to describe than outstanding!! Awesome personnel, customer friendly, and SKILLED, PROFESSIONAL, KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! Every Fall and Spring we have them for our turn on/off periods. We have rarely had emergent needs, but on those few occasions, they were there within a day. Make us feel like we are valued customers. Not often these days does one have the luxury of knowing your needs will be met by committed and caring people! As we are aging, this has become especially valuable. Rene is so flexible, astute, trust her so much. We have had Alex, Chuck, others I forget names, and never a glitch. Amazing company! And every friend we ever referred to Piper has been so grateful and impressed!
