Owner George saved my day by selling me a factory new motor for my Hoover Spin brush carpet scrubber. He just happened to stock this now discontinued part as his store is one of those rare old school sole proprietorship shops from the pre-big box store era. The next time you're shopping for floor care equipment or its repair, forget the big guys. Treat yourself to North Side Vacuums. George is highly knowledgeable, his assortment vast and prices are surprisingly fair.

When it comes to repair service which is the most important issue, this place does a wonderful job. However, there are a few things that left a bad taste in my mouth. The gentlemen tends to condescend. I was in his shop 3 times and each time I saw him talk down to customers as well as myself.
I think a business should also not have political commentaries hanging all over. Leaning left or right, its just a bad choice.
However, my real reason for giving mediocre feedback was the fact that I paid $140 plus tax for a service and the vacuum was not even cleaned. Look at the attached photos. Why would you service a vacuum and not return it to you customer in pristine condition? Very lazy service IMHO. For the extra 10 mins to wipe the thing down you could have really impressed you client(s).
