We went to HPAH today and were so pleased with every interaction we had with the front desk staff to Dr Hudson and his assistant. Axel had developed a bump overnight on his hip, HPAH kindly were able fit us in as new patients on the same day. They even gave us a goodie bag with treats and our prescription when we left. They exceeded our expectations with the care they showed Axel.

I love this place!! Front desk is very nice and welcoming, establishment is clean and easy to find. Dr. Vandermeer took care of my sweet Mango kitty as he had to have surgery. I was very nervous and he walked me through the procedure and helped me understand everything that would be happening. He personally called me after surgery to let me know he was awake and the procedure went great! They even sent me a picture of my baby when he woke up which made me feel really great about the place I chose. I will 100% be back and would recommend this place everyone!

We brought Bali, our English Bulldog in due to her squinting her right eye + a possible right ear infection. Time & money were wasted because we left feeling like it was a rushed appt + unheard with little to no answers except for what we already knew. We felt as if nothing was explained transparently, & we were sent home with an ointment that we all pretty much knew wasnt going to work, especially since the Vet told us to come back in 48 hours. We mentioned that shes been pawing her eye/ear constantly, & not even something as simple as a cone was recommended to avoid contact. The ear flush that was suggested + performed did not work; & its unheard of to only flush an infected ear with no aftercare/treatment plan. Fast forward, we saw another Vet for a second pair of eyes that our friend recommended. Bali has a corneal ulcer in her right eye that Highland Park failed to notice during their stain test, & her right ear (that they treated) was still infected, as well as her left ear. Were very disappointed that Highland Park lacked care + effort & did not take the time to do a thorough examination with Bali. *** Response to comment: If read correctly, I stated that the infected ear was apparently treated in office by whomever flushed it, but it was not actually treated at all. Bali was sent home with no aftercare or preventatives. Nothing was offered or advised. We all know infected ears do not go away after a simply flush. Again, a complete waste of time & money. Regarding the eye, if the examination was done carefully & thoroughly, it wouldve been clear as day that its a corneal ulcer, not a possible; therefore, proper medications couldve been provided during the initial visit to avoid additional costs, more exams, etc. instead of a trial & error type of treatment.

In 2023 when I first took my bulldog Bali for her annual shots and vaccinations and I felt they did a great job! This year 2024 was totally different, we left feeling as if none of our questions were answered and we still didnt know in detail what was wrong with our dogs eye. They seem to be focused more on vaccinations than what we actually came for. After an unsuccessful fluorescein stain test, We were told to just use an ointment (didnt recommend a cone to protect the problem area) and come back in 48 hours if it didnt work. We felt that coming back was pointless and a waste of more money if they couldnt figured out the problem the first time. We decided to go somewhere that specialized more in bulldogs and it was the greatest decision we made so far for Bali.
