    TL;DR: This company has deceptive business practices. I had Think Green lawn service for a year & not a single weed was killed. Their business practices are intentionally opaque & misleading. They misrepresent and falsely advertise their services. Their weed treatments don't work. Their customer service is not great. When I signed up for service in April 2023, I was very hopeful that there would be some improvement in my yard. I had added Bermuda sod a year prior & wanted to maintain it well. However, my yard is actually worse now than when Think Green started a year ago. I signed up with a man named Charlie Rogers who said if I prepaid the year of service, I would save 7.5%. I paid this lump sum & marked the annual renewal date on my calendar. I also paid for aeration. I have watched some of their technicians spray in my 1/3 acre yard for less than 5 minutes. They would sit in the truck for awhile in front of my house, do a brief spray treatment, go sit in the truck. Not only that, but not a single weed died in the entire year of service. I could go to Lowe's & buy weed treatment, spray a weed, and it would turn brown & die. In a full year with Think Green, zero weeds turned brown & died. An area of moss has expanded, my grass hasn't improved; so any supposed fertilizer treatment hasn't been effective either. I called multiple times to communicate my dissatisfaction & concern, and to ask for a more effective or different approach. I spoke to Charlie, I spoke to Jim, I spoke to the local office, I spoke to someone from North Carolina. Never once did they consider or acknowledge the possibility that their weed treatment composition wasn't effective for my yard & needed to be adjusted. Nor the possibility that the technician wasn't spraying the whole yard or wasn't spending enough time in the yard. They wanted proof (the weeds were the proof) so I started taking pictures before and after treatments. I texted them multiple pictures of weeds, but those weeds were never killed in any subsequent treatment. I communicated several times that I did not want to renew my service. A lot of excuses were given as to why I still had weeds. I wanted to cancel during the pre-paid term, but they insisted they would do additional treatments during that time to address the issue. They didn't actually do any additional treatments beyond September. They also penalize you monetarily for terminating a pre-paid year of treatment early, even if their weed treatment isn't working. I decided I would finish the year, but communicated to everyone I spoke with at Think Green that I did not want to renew the service. Imagine my surprise when not only was my service renewed & additional charges billed, but also that this took place within my pre-paid "year" of service. Now I'm told that the "year" I pre-paid for wasn't actually a year, but just through the end of 2023. This is only alluded to (very ambiguously) once in 1/3 of the emails I got after I signed up in April 2023, an email I received after I had already pre-paid & signed up. If they were not intentionally trying to deceive customers, their treatment terms would be communicated in a very clear & consistent way. I was promised a year, I paid for a year, I did not get a year. I paid for weed treatment; I did not get any effective weed treatment. Steer clear of this company. There are much better weed treatment companies available that actually kill weeds. Pictures included of all the different weeds in my yard that were not killed in 2024. Will return to add pictures from 2023.

When I signed up for service in April 2023, I was very hopeful that there would be some improvement in my yard. I had added Bermuda sod a year prior & wanted to maintain it well. Ms. Green, I understand your frustration with our service. On multiple occasions, we attempted to inform you of what to expect with your lawn results last year. There is nothing deceptive about our business practices, and we have tried to rectify your issues multiple times. I personally scheduled an appointment to meet you on your lawn in September to discuss the issues. I arrived as scheduled, on time, but no one answered the door. I did follow up and spoke to you on the phone after that visit. During those phone calls, you never asked me to stop or cancel your service. I explained that you started your lawn care program with us in April, which is late for completing all the pre-emergent treatments. Pre-emergent applications, done in winter and spring, prevent crabgrass. Your primary issue last summer was crabgrass, which we treated several times at no charge to try and make an impact, but with limited pre-emergent treatments, it's an ongoing battle, as I explained. While at your home, I observed many of your neighbors' lawns that we take care of, and they were all in great shape. I believe I pointed this out as well during our phone conversation. Lawn care takes time, and not all lawns are the same. Your lawn does have some difficult-to-control weeds. When I visited your lawn last year, the only weed present was the crabgrass we discussed. We are very clear in how we invoice and bill for services. I apologize if there was any confusion, but any lawn service you hire will have continuous service from year to year, as you experienced when you took advantage of a prepay offer like you did. That prepay is for the remaining calendar year. We did not charge you for any services that were not performed, and you did receive or pay for a full year's program in 2023. You only paid for the remaining scheduled application when you began service in April. This is industry standard, and any company you hire will have these same practices. We make every effort to make these things as clear as possible to our customers. We send out 2 renewal reminder letters, both via mail and email, to remind customers that their services will renew in the new year. The first of these letters is sent in September and the final in the first week of January each year. We also text you before every application before we serviced your property, which I confirmed was done, and records show those texts went out, and there was no response asking us not to perform those services. At no time during the period after we last spoke in mid-September were we contacted to stop service or asked to discontinue service. I completely understand your frustration and dissatisfaction with the results on your property, and I’m more than happy to speak with you anytime if you’d like to contact me directly to discuss the issues again. Corey, I can assure you there is nothing shady about our business practices. Auto pay is a very common practice in all service industries and we never charge for services until after they are performed and you have been invoiced. Unless you as the customer choose to pre pay for your annual services which earns you a great discount for doing so.
