I wasn't particularly impressed with the $4000 flat fee quoted for a prenup review. I'm also disappointed with how the website claims there is a flat fee but the fee is not listed there.

Tobie Waxman represented me for months while preparing for matters of post-dissolution.   After one court hearing (in which the judge issued a fine for lack of detail in her work product, (as stated in the court transcript), she sent me an e mail, which resembled a form letter, terminating legal services. Her e mail did not mention my name.  Upon receiving this e mail, I called her. Tobie Waxman told me that she was considering closing her law practice.  Here we are, and apparently this was not the case.

Had a question about community law and whether or not I needed to add onto my pre nup. She was really clear and straightforward with her answers and did not make me pay fo a 15 minutes phone call. I definitely will save her phone number for future inquiry. Highly professional Thank you Tobbie.

She's not only trying to speak with authority to me about a field she doesn't practice but also very unprofessional. Think of a divorce lawyer talks about a medical malpractice case and doesn't even know California courts' and governor's response to Covid-19, tolling the period for Statutes Limitations. Yet, she's trying to talk to me, to make some money out of it, or keep the business with my legal service. In the end, just like an insecure ex you dumped, tells you "I don't want you anyway" to save her ego; she says I'm passing with your case. Ha Ha! Like she is an expert in these types of cases, and she decides not to do it.For those who are looking for a divorce lawyer, and don't care if she's professional or not. She may be knowledgable in this area. But, I would be highly doubtful about that too.Update in consideration of the attorney's response:I didn't have any intention to hurt her business. I don't have any benefit whatsoever from hurting her business. Her webpage doesn't have single information about 27 years of her Medical Malpractice practice. Although she stated that she owed no duty to me, I was referred to her from my legal service that she partners with. They told me "I will not be billed for a document review (up to 15 pages), or a letter or phone call on my behalf." Based on this I gave her a call for an initial consultation. As well as help with the letter. From the first moment, she interrupted me over and over and ask my complete records. My question was to simply ask her about the Covid-19's effect on the timing and how should I prepare the letter. I didn't even ask her to write the letter(which was included in my membership). When she told me she can't even answer these questions without my record I sent her the records. When I was trying to get an answer to my simple question, she said she can't even advise me after seeing my complete records. Folks, I've spoken to a lot of attorneys in my life, and I can say with confidence that she didn't only refuse my request to get a piece of legal information, she was also not a kind human being.I really hope that she takes this review as a gift from me and won't mistreat you, potential clients. I hope she keeps up with up-to-date information about her profession, learns to listen to people, and tries to be helpful. It's not a lot to ask.
