Dear Ms. Collins,I am truly sorry you had a bad experience with your car accident. However, the $500 you are referring to seems to be your deductible. If you chose to have your insurance to pay for the repair of your vehicle, you are always responsible for paying your deductible. Your deductible should get reimbursed by the other party if they accept liability. Usually, if the other side accept liability you would set up the repair through them directly so you would not have any out-of-pocket expenses. Anyhow, this is your car insurance job to take care off. Your personal injury attorney is responsible to get you compensated for your bodily injury, not property damage. The attorney compensation that is usually a third of your settlement has nothing to do with your property damage (1/3 to you, 1/3 to the doctors, 1/3 to the attorney). Again, that should be handled by the property damage adjuster from your car insurance only. We always make sure to assist our clients with the handling of the property damage as well, but unfortunately we have no say so in choosing your car insurance nor are responsible for your deduction.I wish you all well Ms. Collins and hope that you have a blessed day.
