image I cannot put into words how grateful I am for this place. I brought my miniature dachshund in after she had been attacked my a Dalmatian. I was absolutely HYSTERICAL. They took her back immediately and brought us into a room to wait. They were very upfront about cost, risks and treatment all while being caring and compassionate. My girl had to have surgery and was there for 2 nights. They allowed me to come in and visit with her when I wasnt able to take her home after the first night. The communication was nothing less than impeccable the entire time. My girl is doing great, but even if the outcome would have been less than favorable, I would have still been so grateful for how this place made such a tragic day a little easier. I cant thank everyone enough. From the front staff, the vet techs and the vets that cared for my girl.

image If I could rate this wonderful place higher, I would. We walked in having panic attacks with our mini dachshunds intestines hanging out after being bitten by a Dalmatian. This place quickly triaged her, kept us calm and took great care of our girl the whole time she was there. She had surgery and they kept us updated the whole time. They even accommodated us coming for visits. They came in a couple grand under what they quoted us as well! All around a great experience when we thought our dog was going to die.

image 2 days ago I found out my dog had a liver carcinoma as well as an enlarged heart due to heart disease. She was still doing ok so between her vet and I we decided she could come home for her last days.
Fast forward to today, she seems to be having trouble breathing. I call VCA CAVES to get her in and they as me for what, Im crying and said I think its her time to go. I drive the 30 minutes at 1am. They put me in a comfort room, ok? And the tech double checks that Im here for euthanasia. Ummm no exam just stop by and kill your pet??
I explain her diagnosis and I want to know if she is suffering. I think my dog is dying and Im at an ER vet, I think it is safe to say I may not be handling it well and I just want to know if she is ok or if it is time.
All of these other tests that I paid 1000 for 2 days ago at a vet with the same exact name, 30 minutes away. Well, guess what. They cant access records across the same business.
So they want to do all of these tests again. I said I can get her records from 2 days ago. Dr Chase, states nope they need to do their own. Im
So worried at this time and I just want an exam and maybe some patient care in the form of kindness.
I said you know what, this isnt at all right for my dogs situation who is breathing quite heavy.
Dr chase is annoyed and says well Ill get you discharge papers. I said no need you provided zero patient care. Mind you I waited longer for Dr Chase than I actually spoke with her.
I picked my animal up put her in the car. Got into the drivers seat and got a bill from the same vet for 217.00.
Imagine Im in a panic over my beloved best friend. Ive never had a dog before and this girl has been by my side for 10+ years.
I walk back in and acknowledge to the person checking people in that I understand this has zero to do with her . Im crying because my dog may be dying and Good Ole, Dr. Chase, who has zero soft skills or bedside manner told her to charge me the ER fee. Disgusting!
Then the techs come out and start defending their actions and statements. I had zero issue with the techs. Not once did someone take a moment to say hey we get this is a highly emotional issue. Lets see what we can do or god no of course you dont owe that bill we gave zero care to your pet.
I will never go back to this business and I will fight that bill. Warning to all people that care about their pets. Because Dr. Chase certainly does not!
This place needs a lesson in patient care and training lots of training! Ill let you know if my dog makes it through the night to get to her normal vet.

image I have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience at CAVES. From our first phone call, surgery and follow up. The entire staff is the best! Having had some issues with post surgery healing the communication with the Receptionist, Techs and Veterinarian is outstanding. There is no delay in communicating, Im talking minutes for them to respond and provide solutions. Our boy Phoenix is lucky to have such and amazing group looking out for him. I cant thank you all enough.
