I called the store to see if they carried the correct battery for my car fob. I was told that there are usually only three kinds and they had all of them in stock but that they don't have a reference book to see which kind my fob calls for so I would need to come into the shop. I went in and despite the mask mandate the guy at the counter was not wearing one. He was very personable and helpful though. He was careful when opening my very complicated fob and replacing the battery for me. I did not price the battery out but paid $5 which felt reasonable given that I had used the last battery for 3 years. He was very nice about informing me that the batteries also came with a 1 year warranty. Only complaint is that he was not wearing a mask.

Should have bought online. Went in looking for a 12v battery for my kid's tractor, the first thing she brought out had the correct form factor/spec but it cost 3 times what I knew similar generic China cells go for online and almost as much as the OEM part with all the extra plastic. I say, never mind. Then she says, they have some older cells for about the same price as online, but no warranty blah blah, so I say okay, sounds fine. It's a toy, not life support, so I figured it'd be okay. Unfortunately, I got distracted by my kids and didn't notice that cell was only 7.2 Ah instead of 8 Ah and capable of significantly less amps. Tractor is now slow AF. Moral of the story, The 5 year-old cell I left as a core was better than what I purchased. I just ordered a 15 Ah cell online for less than what they wanted for the 8 Ah, which should be a significant upgrade in speed and endurance. ...should have done that first.
