Im shocked at the previous reviews! I have been seen here monthly now for over 6 months and have had no issues. Dr & Ms. Lombardi are always great to talk to and I enjoy my visits. They have been very helpful!

Rude receptionist didn't want to help.

I honestly wish I could give them no stars in my rating of this office, because that is the type of service I have received at University Psychiatric Associates. & that wondrous experience only cost me over $200 & more than 6 hours of time! Calling around to multiple offices for treatment of ADD, I had not taken the medication for this condition in quite some time. I needed a consult to get back on a medication that would treat the disorder. Calling around to local offices here in cornelius yielded few results as many doctors were booked solid. Visited UPA, and they prescribed me vyvanse. W/out insurance, the drug costs around $155/month. After I ran out of my supply I called the office & told the NP to write me a script for a cheaper drug with similar active ingredients. The drug was adderall, & I was to pick it up, rather than mail it, from their office due to restrictions on controlled substances. I picked up a prescription for Adderall "XR" which HAS NO GENERIC. I took it by the pharmacy, & they requested $185. I thought to myself, why did I drive 40 miles roundtriop to pick up a script from this boneheaded office that costs $30-35 MORE than the vyvanse which worked perfectly? Are they really that dumb? (Yes!) So I called the office, & said I needed to pick up another script, this time for the 2 a day regiment of regular adderall (I gave them the exact drug I needed). I call this request in on Wednesday, telling them I will pick it up on Thursday & to have it ready, & that I wasn't happy about driving down 40 miles roundtrip a second time (especially with gas at near $4/gallon, & each trip costing me about $10!) - I didn't even receive an apology. They call me to tell me it is ready Thursday morning. Having little time, I tried to swoop down from Cornelius for my prescription figuring I'd be in & out. I get there & the receptionist says, "I'm sorry, she hasn't written the script, do you mind waiting?" Thinking it would be a simple call back to her office to have the NP write the script, she'd sign a 3x5 piece of paper & bring it up, I said "sure!". 5 minutes goes by, 10 minutes goes by. I start to look at my watch. 20 minutes goes by, & finally I go up & tap on the receptionists glass. "She's in session, it will be another 20 minutes." To which I said, "You simply can't go back there & have her sign a piece of paper?! I don't have the time to wait almost an hour for her to write a script when she feels like it, especially when you guys called me hours ago & told me it was ready." Amazingly, with a bit of persuasion, I was able to get my script. The receptionist looks at the script & says, "Yup! That's the correct one, here you go Mr. " I get most of the way back to cornelius, & look down at my script, & it's the same #$@$ prescription she wrote before for Adderall XR!!" I call back to the office the next day to tell them to MAIL me the script IMMEDIATELY - & they say they'll take care of it. LOW & BEHOLD!! No script arrives at my door. I get a call from the office, this time its the office manager, Bridget. I tell her my situation. She says to call the pharmacy, & that they signed that they could do a "substitution" for regular adderall at the bottom of the script. I call the pharmacy, & they say its well known that you can't substitute controlled substances. Call back down to the bonehead office manager Bridget, & get this, SHE TELLS ME THEY ARE CONCERNED THAT I HAVE 2 SCRIPTS OUT FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES! She's insinuating that I have a controlled substance problem when I haven't picked up a single prescription BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD IT, & NOW WANTS ME TO COME BACK IN ON ANOTHER PAID VISIT IN ORDER TO WRITE ME THE CORRECT PRESCRIPTION?! I said that I don't want to pay for another visit, & she says they are required monthly at $90/each to renew my prescription from now on, & they don't prescribe one of the most popular drugs to treat ADD - adderal....W...T...F??? 4 visits to their office & I got nothing...120 miles driven & more than 6 hours wasted for absolutely nothing.
