Thank you to Junie and her great staff at Avalon Homecare for the terrific help, assistance, care, encouragement and everything else that made such a positive difference in the quality of life in my mom's last few months while she was on hospice. The caregivers were amazing, and my mom, even though she wasn't very happy in the beginning about needing the assistance she had to have in order to stay in her house when she became ill, really benefited from and enjoyed the attention and companionship she received from Avalon. I want to thank Avalon Home Care for caring for my Aunt, in her mobile-home in Carlsbad. My Aunt resisted the idea of having anyone live in her home and take care of her daily needs. She was 98 years old, in fairly good health, but was beginning to black out and fall, with no warning. We, her family, insisted that she have live-n care. Her mobile-home was arranged so that the caregiver could have a small private bedroom, easily accessible to my Aunts care. We expected them to gently care for my aunt, giving her the privacy that she required, do all grocery shopping, cooking, daily cleaning, distribute medications, give personal attention to her physical needs, and handle such responsibilities as come to a normal household. Two caregivers particularly, Jayne and Katrian were with her most over the past year, and she grew to appreciate them and NEVER said anything to me against their presence. I want to publicly thank them for adjusting their attitudes and caregiving methods to fit in with my Aunt’s sometime demanding mannerisms. I formed a close, comfortable, true friendship with both of these women. My connection with Avalon Home Care administration has been excellent, and they have provided continuous care, which is absolutely necessary, and in most cases, appropriately chosen for the care of my Aunt. I am content that we did all that we could to help her final days in her own home.
