Carbon Connection Cyclery

My few experiences with this shop have been very good. But as of today (2/2/15) the door is locked and folks outside said they had closed. No info on their website and the phone cycles over to a fax machine it sounds like. anybody out there know what the deal is? Are they closing; moving; having a mid life crisis?? thanks

Ordered a 2013 Focus Cayo 3.0. I had talked to Bob about sizing, got the answers I needed and the bike was promptly shipped via UPS. Unfortunately UPS damaged the bike...No Worries .. Jerry took care of everything. I filed the claim against UPS.. Jerry said we are not going to have you wait while UPS drags things out. He got a second bike out to me which arrived in perfect condition. I can't express my thanks enough to Jerry and Bob. If you have questions before you order just give them a call or email. Every call and email was answered promptly. The bike was packed professionally to the T. If I lived in the Carlsbad area this would be my go to shop. This is my go to online bike shop The price and service is unbeatable.

Bob is condescending and, frankly, dishonest. He flat out makes up negative stuff about bike brands he doesn't sell. If you bring your bike in to his shop, prepare to have your rig insulted. If you question his claim about this or that, he gets all huffy and contentious. I've been in a dozen times or so and have bought some stuff because they had better prices on some items but at this point, even saving $$ will not get me to go back.

I was actively searching online for a good deal on a Masi Premiare PC3 2013, and I found two competing options. A lightly used demo bike from a different store, and a new one here. Since the difference was not great I decided to splurge and spend my money here, and let the other deal go. 6 days later, after the other deal has long sailed away and my new bike still was not shipped to me, I called Carbon Connections to see what was up. I was bluntly told that they never had the bike and could not get it and they were very sorry but there was nothing they could do. Now I cannot get the bike I wanted for a whole year. And to think I could have just bought it from the other place that actually had it. Terrible business conduct. Avoid.

Whether it's a Monday or a Saturday there is always someone at Carbon Connection that will have all the answers and the ability to tune up your bike, sell you a bike, or answer any array of questions you might have all while helping a few other customers, building up a bike and answering the phone. We have a lot of experiencing buying from Carbon Connection and wouldn't go any where else for the big ticket items. We've bought two bikes, two sets of wheels, a disc, aero bars, two bike computers, a power meter, two pairs of bike shoes, countless tubes, nutrition and without a doubt have always felt comfortable and well informed on all purchases. This is the true LBS and will thankfully always be just that. Can't get any better. Love these guys. --Tu & Heather
