This company deserves zero stars. We placed an order for a side garage door last October and put down a deposit. Found out a couple months later that the order was never placed and there is no answer from the company about what happened. Linda, the office manager, is horrible and didn't return my calls. Finally I was able to connect with her and she would not explain what was going on when I found out from the sale rep that all the customer orders were never placed during the timeframe that I had ordered. We have compalints in to the District Attorney's office, BBB, and taking it to the police next. Avoid them!

this company is busy, but you can always count on them to deliver good quality jobs. The staffs in the office and in the fields are courteous, helpful, and responsive. Yes, responsive is VERY important to me at least. The reason I selected this company initially was due to the recommendations from the neighborhoods, and also it offers the construction type windows, instead of the replacement type windows. I had the replacement type window before, but it leaked badly during the big storms. I should go with the construction type widows at the beginning. Well I paid for the lessons. So I would recommend this company to everyone.

I did not have a good experience here. I went in seeking to get quieter windows for our bedroom, which is near a highway. The gentleman I talked to was very nice, but he was not very helpful. According to him, my best bet was to install two new windows at a price tag of $5,000 -- and then he said I might also need to add more drywall after that (interestingly, his mother worked in drywall). This is insane. We ended up purchasing two acoustic-grade Indow Window inserts (elsewhere) for a total of $700 which absolutely blocked all noise from those windows. (It's not the best solution because the windows don't open, but the sound performance is utterly amazing.) But the gentleman I talked to never mentioned the existence of such a product. He could have also mentioned the idea of just replacing the glass in the (Pella) windows, which would have run about $1,500, but he did not. Going from standard dual-pane glass (which we have now), to a dual-pane window with one of the panes laminated, with thicker glass, with differing thicknesses between the two panes, and with the largest air gap between the panes (in that order of importance) would reduce the sound transmission by at least 10 dB, which is, perceptually, half. He was ready to let us pay $5,000 to fully replace two small windows (...stucco styrofoam framing on the outside added complexity) when there were far better options. Now that I've fully researched this topic, I'm very disappointed in the advice and options he gave.

Part (2): Update 7/27/2017 After Part (1) is posted (see below), I contacted Milgard. They told me that “ Five Star Windows” NOT in good standing, but on a credit hold with Milgard. The windows would not have been made until they settled their outstanding balances. Do NOT recommend “Five Star Windows” for any window service. Part(1) I signed a contract with Milgard’s dealer “Five Star Windows” for window replacement in early June 2017. It was a very bad experience. The schedule had a large delay and the planning staff Gary Halsey is very irresponsible. The original delivery time was 4 to 5 weeks. In the 5th week after the deposit was made, I called “Five Star Windows” for an update. They didn’t have any idea about the schedule. Several days later, Gary told me that my order was delayed for 5 weeks. It looks they missed placing the order at Milgard and therefore needed another 5 weeks. However, Gary said it was Milgard’s problem. I asked him to get an earlier date. It didn’t work. Gary doesn’t have any patience to listen to the customer. He was very rude and kept interrupting me. I was very disappointed. Gary didn’t want to resolve the issue, but cancelled the order. More than one month time wasted. Terrible service of “Five Star Window”! Gary is the worst planning staff I have ever seen for all my remodeling projects so far. Do NOT recommend “Five Star Windows” for any window service. Its performance is really One Star.
