The Disney World of old mining! Ive been to tons of old ghost towns but the Carissa mine mill tour takes the cake. If you are into mining and history you will love this tour. They take you through the building thats over the mine and show you the equipment and tools and how they work. Then they take you over to the mill where the ore was processed to extract the gold. Then they turn on the equipment and show you how it all works! Out of all the mills, mines and ghost towns Ive been to this is the only one Ive seen in working condition. Theyve done a fantastic job of preserving and restoring everything. Be sure to reserve a spot on the tour. Go and see the English mine tour as well.
