I liked the store. But we went there with the intention of eating in. But we didn't see a restaurant. There was the word 'restaurant' on the sign/flag outside along with the words 'bakery' & 'store'. This place definitely was not crowded at all. Lots of merchandise stocked on the shelves, including a glass case with Victoria Secret items for sale, then on the back wall hats, and they even had dishes, meds etc. We went on a Saturday afternoon, they had some tamales. But that's it as far as food you could eat right away. They also had a restaurant style kitchen, but again, we did not see a restaurant. Did we miss something? It didn't seem that they were utilizing the entire building. We got back to the car and looked at the place and realized we didn't go to one area of the place, but there was not a way to gain access to that area.. that we saw.

Wow, where to start? We were doing some business at CoVantage and saw this Mexican grocery store/restaurant in the old Pizza Hut. Figured we would give it a try. It took us a min to figure out how to get into the restaurant part as you have to walk through a narrow hallway along side the grocery store to get to it. The first thing we noticed is that it was cold in there. The thermostat said 62 and it finally warmed up to 63. We looked at the menu that was given to us when we entered and tried to order. I state tried because the person working at the grocery store/serving/cooking didn't understand English that well. That's fine and I have encountered that plenty as I travel around the country all the time. We pointed at the menu of what we wanted and he left. From there we could hear Chef Mike working hard. We got frijoles Fritos as an app. It came out quickly but that was expected as we heard chef Mike, aka, the microwave work hard. The side of the monster sized bowl were hot, but the middle was so cold it wasn't melting the cheese. The beans were the consistency of a thick bean soup which after stirred up to try to get some heat to the middle, were barely warm. I'm sure we will regret eating that later. A few minutes later our entrees come out. I ordered the carne asada which I didn't get. I ended up getting the fajitas. My wife got the tamales which was supposed to be one chicken and one pork. The beef for the fajitas was so tough that I really had a hard time chewing it. There was no way to bite through it when inside the corn tortilla. No seasoning, and just a greasy overcooked bunch of chicken, thinly sliced grilled leather, and mushy overcooked onions and peppers. We got the same bean soup as the appetizer and some special rice. The rice was a collection of some overcooked rice along with a unique collection of frozen veggies....all microwaved. Add that to the quarter avocado that was still had the skin on which was set skin side down into the side of my beans. My wife's tamales also contained the same rice and bean mixture. The best thing I can say about the tamales is the chicken was seasoned well and had a decent level of heat to them. The tamales were also just microwaved, the outside masa was a weird congealed mixture with the chicken in the middle. I am 90% her whole meal was just all microwaved. For $42 I would expect better. There was nothing fresh and we pretty much just ate leftovers there. We definitely will not be going back there. We went there because people said it was authentic Mexican food. Being born in California and living in Texas also, I have had a lot of authentic Mexican food. We have been to Mexico plenty of times. This was lazy, overpriced, and just not good food.
