Hansen Chiropractic

I have been going to Dr. Hansen since I was 16. He has helped come back from sport injuries. He also helped me tremendously through my two pregnancies. Everyone there is so sweet and nice, its like you are part of the family every time you walk in! Highly recommend.

I went Dr. Hansen for several years growing up. Hes treated both my parents as well. Once I moved away and started looking for chiropractors near me, I noticed a stark difference in the care that was given. The providers Ive seen since then are infinitely better. I never would have guessed how much better it could be. Ill reference the most recent one to keep it simple: She didnt push having to come back at regular intervals - her goal was to make me feel better that very day. On some occasions my pain was bad enough that I knew a second or third appointment would be needed, but she would always tell me just to see her if Im in pain, and to cancel if I felt better. One time she even came into the office later in the evening because she could hear how much pain I was in, and the difference she made was incredible. She would spend about 30-40 minutes each appointment with me and ALWAYS asked before dismissing me if there was anything else Id like adjusted. She would do soft tissue manipulation, understanding that sometimes the muscles are too tense to let things move the way they should. She would explain a lot of what she was doing and why unless it was something I already knew, and would give me tips on stretches to do and postures to keep to prevent pain in the future. She would keep good conversation that was well-balanced. I would always leave feeling like progress was made and I would either feel better that day or the next day once my body responded to the treatment. I should note that this chiropractors services were either the same price or cheaper than Dr. Hansen - youre not paying extra for all this, its just how an appointment should naturally be. Now heres the contrast: Dr. Hansen would spend about 10 minutes or less with me each session. A crack here, a crack there, done. No soft tissue manipulation ever, period. Rarely ever any insight into what he was doing and how it was actually helping. He would talk about what he wanted to talk about, which oftentimes was just plain awkward, like spending way too much energy explaining how ugly Meryl Streep apparently is. Conversation that couldve been better spent helping me understand what was going on, how he was helping, and ways to help me prevent issues. I never felt a great amount of relief, but since I had never gone anywhere else, I didnt know any better. I was pressured to come back several times a week, which is very difficult to manage financially if you dont have good insurance coverage or income. It absolutely felt like I wasnt there to improve, I was there to make him money. If you are looking for a chiropractor that will actually make a difference, keep looking. If youre a current patient that has never seen anyone else, I advise that you try elsewhere at least once. Look at the reviews - theyre very telling. Some chiropractors are like Dr. Hansen, and some actually want you to feel better and not need them as frequently.
