        My Mother has been with WSL since Aug.2020 - first in Assisted Living and now in Memory Care. Both areas have been a true blessing for us. The care she receives is more than I could ever provide. The staff is very attentive to her needs and keeps me well informed of any thing going on. In addition they have helped me through the transition. They freely answer questions. Zoom sessions twice a week have been set up. Just an amazing place!

        Our mother moved to Waterford Senior Living three years ago following broken hip surgery.  After looking at all the local senior living facilities in western Racine County, this was our choice because it was clean, spacious, and seemed like "home."  Mom did very well there, even throughout the pandemic.  Yes, there were some issues that I had to let management know about regarding cleanliness, missed meals, etc., but not too bad overall.We moved mom to their Memory Care facility in December 2022, and started having a lot more issues.  The staff, while caring and nice, didn't seem to be well instructed or supervised regarding mom's care plan, which (should have) had some very specific directions.  We asked for a copy of the care plan, and found it to be very confusing, outdated, and conflicting.  No wonder it couldn't be followed!  After a couple weeks in Memory Care, we began hospice care for mom, provided by an outside agency that comes into the facility.  There was an agonizing lack of coordination between the facility management and hospice, which led to mom having to suffer unnecessarily from lack of pain medication. Mom died in January, having been in Memory Care just over a month.For any family facing placing an aging loved one into ANY senior living (or memory care) facility, please be aware that you'll need to be an advocate for your loved one!  My heart goes out to any resident that was simply moved in and forgotten about.
